Satan stirs up Jealousy
Satan stirs up Jealousy
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
God has won a great victory /outside enemy
satan attacks from within/ Ephraim
Gideon’s reply
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
He made peace with the Ephraimites
now he has to deal with a couple of towns
Succoth V 4
Succoth V 4
passed over the Jordan Map
Please give us bread / we are doing the LORD’S work
we need support
their reply “its not happening”
it was very discouraging
he did not give a soft answer
Penuel V 8
Penuel V 8
The same reaction from the people
this time there was a more harsh reaction from Gideon
Gideon’s revenge
Gideon’s revenge
He has promised revenge on Succoth, penuel
he is still perusing two kings relentlessly
Why?
V 10-12 twenty four, plus hrs killing chasing killing chasing no food, sleep, or rest
we wish it was a zeal for Godly things
V 13 next morning in Succoth dragging men through the thorns
V 17 tearing down the defence tower killing the men of penuel
V 18 we find out the reason for his zeal
Gideon fights our enemy
Gideon fights our enemy
Revenge, at Succoth, Penuel, the 2 kings
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
God is a very good revenge doer
He knows the very best way to avenge His children
Satan wants us to be vengeful
keeping our mind full of hate
Eze 25 15-17
that’s why Paul give us this warning
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
- go there
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
Blessed is the person who endures testing, because when he is approved he will receive the crown of life that he has promised to those who love him.
Gods grace is given to us when we rely on Him

Peace comes from above
Conclusion
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are pleasing, whatever things are commendable, if there is any excellence of character and if anything praiseworthy, think about these things.
Satan wants to keep us stirred up
with thoughts of revenge
hate toward others
divert us from our mission to love
Grace is given to go through these times, when we surrender to Jesus
