Wrath is an essential characteristic of God.

Romans 1:18 ESV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

God’s wrath is not impulsive.

God’s wrath is not capricious.

God’s wrath is not uncontrolled.

θυμός - A red hot anger (Thermometer)

οργη - A settled and abiding disposition against sin.

The wrath of God is His righteous reaction to sin.

What kindles God’s wrath? What is it that causes God to respond powerfully in opposition to men? Unrighteousness.
What does that look like in our day and time?

Unrighteous men suppress the truth.

κατέχω - The hinder, hold down, restrain, or prevent the truth from coming to light.
