Proverbs 10:27 NASB95
27 The fear of the Lord prolongs life, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short.
Psalm 139:15–18 NASB95
15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; 16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
NASB95
Psalm 90:10 NASB95
10 As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.

NASB95

OT Patriarchs Ages:

Methuselah - 969 years
Noah - 950 years
Adam - 930 years
Seth - 912 years
Isaac - 180 years
Isaac - 180 years
Abraham - 175
Jacob - 147 years
If you put up all this ages against what Peter says:
If you put up all this ages against what Peter says:
2 Peter 3:8 NASB95
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
We can say that since Methuselah lived 969 years and Adam lived to be 930 years, then neither of them lived a full day in God’s eyes.
Today we are gathered here not to celebrate somebody’s life but to celebrate the fact that somebody has been and is still alive for 90 years- Dinah Ramiro. If we were talking about Dinah’s identical twin, then we would be celebrating her life. Too bad she was in a hurry to leave earth instead of living on earth, but in her case it was beyond hers and our control. God wanted her home 27 years ago.

Life upon birth is a gift, given to us not by our choice but by God’s choice. Life during our existence here on Earth is also a gift and it’s longevity depends on how you managed it God’s sovereign control. All of God’s choices are good but we cannot say the same with all of ours. God choose to give you life but how you live it becomes your choice. The outcome of your choices will impact how long you want to live.
How we fill about living;
If things are going well we want to live long but when it goes south then we want to go south with it even 6 feet under. There are some who want to live long and so we ask the question what is the secret to a long life.

PROPER PHYSICAL DIET & EXERCISE

it’s a common knowledge that health is wealth.
You want to fire your doctor, set fire to all your junk food at home, hit the gym start burning calories and start eating healthy.
Eating a healthy leachon does not translate to a healthy diet.
God’s original intent for man is to be physically active. Observe his commands to Adam:
Go multiply
have dominion,
eat vegetarian or go vegan.
Genesis 1:29 NASB95
29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
GE
3 John
3 John 2 ESV
2 Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
Proverbs 14:30 ESV
30 A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.
Proverbs 14:3 NASB95
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back, But the lips of the wise will protect them.
So there are biblical prescriptions on how to stay physically healthy.

PROPER SPIRITUAL DIET AND EXERCISE

Matthew 4:4 NASB95
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ”

PROPER BEHAVIOR

Proverbs 20:1 NASB95
1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise.
Luke 21:34 NIV
34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
Luke 2
Luke 12:25–31 NASB95
25 “And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life’s span? 26 “If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters? 27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 28 “But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith! 29 “And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. 30 “For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. 31 “But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
Exodus 20:12 NASB95
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
Ephesians 6:1–4 NASB95
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth. 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:
Ephesians 6:1–3 NASB95
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

AT THE END OF THE DAY

Proverbs 10:27 NASB95
27 The fear of the Lord prolongs life, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.
Proverbs 1:7 NASB95

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE

;
Job 21:7 NASB95
7 “Why do the wicked still live, Continue on, also become very powerful?
God’s mercy
God’s patience
God’s love
2 Peter 3:8–10 NASB95
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
Someday God’s patience will end. Someday life will end. There is one day in our life which we call the LAST. What happens then.
Your fear death because somehow something is not right and that there is some uncertainty that is coming and you have a bad feeling about it.
1 John 4:18 NASB95
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
You fear because you have sinned.
Romans 3:23 NASB95
