John 8:1–11 NIV
but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
We are currently finished with our first mission statement which is to reach the Lost.
We do this by Invitation
We do this by not being Judgemental
We do this because Jesus came to save the lost and we should too.
Tonight we will go through our encouter mission.
I explained a little bit about worship which is us giving worth to God.
Using our mind, soul, heart, and strength.
We are going to review how One encouter with Jesus changes everything.
1.) My testimony
I believe that a testamony has power
2.) The Altertous Women
1.) Catch in the act:
Through this Scripture we could see that the Pharisees decided to grab this girl and show her to Jesus.
They were trying to trap Jesus.
Can you guys yell out “It’s A Trap”
Then the Pharisees demanded Jesus to answer their question
“Moses said this, What do you say”
When we are going through our lives we need to distinguish 2 things.
The differences between Condemnation and Conviction.
Condemnation: To be guilty, have shame.
Conviction: Is to reproach.
We have an Enemy who is here to steal, kill, and destroy.
One way he does this is by condemning us from our flaws.
The Phariees is a perfect example of this trying to trap Jesus about this suitation.
John 3:17 NIV
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
God does not hate the world so much, He actually loves it and this is why He send Jesus out to restore it.
The enemy will whisper in our hears about who horrible we are, there we will be nobody, that we don’t belong anywhere.
Romans 8:1 NIV
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
How can this be possible?
His Sacrifice provided the forgiveness of sin.
Romans 3:23–26 NIV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
We are able to guard away from condemnation.
Conviction Is another thing we need to examine in our lives.
Condemnation = Quit
Conviction = Keep Going.
Conviction speaks to you and says, Yeah you messed up, keep going, keep purusuing the faith, Don’t stop reaching for your friends, don’t stop reading your bible plans, don’t STOP
Condemnation = STOP
Conviction= DON’T STOP
John 16:8 NIV
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
Conviction is the Holy Spirit speaking to us what needs to change, what we need to improve on, He does this to us so we are aware of what needs to be done.
In this passage you will see the explain of Jesus and you could expect Him to do the same thing.
John 8:6–11 NIV
They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
John 8:
John 8:5–11 NIV
We could see Jesus bent down to started to write on the ground with his finger. They kept on questioning him.
2.) Are you Perfect?
Afterwards He concludes this statement: Ley any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.
A few things schorals have thought that Jesus have written down which we don’t know were.
1.)
In order for us to Reach The Lost and to Encouter Jesus, we need to put our judgement down and love.
Jesus did not say condemn her, Jesus did not say talk bad about her, Jesus did not say do what you must.
Jesus says alright if you have not commited a flaw, if you have not commited a sin go ahead and throw a stone.
And guess what nobody was able to do it, why? Because we are all fallen.
Romans 3:23 NIV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We are all imperfect, we all have flaws.
You could go ahead and talk about his flaws and his problems, but let’s talk about ours.
Let’s talk about your flaws that you seem to cover them up really good.
We all need to encouter Jesus so we could experience His love.
We are called to be vessels of love. Everywhere we go.
When people encouter me on Campus, I want them to encouter Jesus in every action I do.
Why does this sermon sound so similar because some of you guys need to hear it constantly.
3.) Go now and leave your life of sin.
This is pretty much what our lifestlye should be when we encouter Jesus.
Go now and leave your life of sin.
Go now and leave your life of pride
Hate
Anger
Anything that is holding you down
Anything that is hinder your walk with go.
Go now and leave that life.
Why does he say that?
Because it requires us to give up our rights and let Jesus encouter us so we could be restored.
Some of you guys need to get rid of this shame, guilt, whatever it may be.
Tonight is your night.
Whatever you are angry, whatever is bothering you, Maybe you are sad needing comfort.
This is your moment.
Matthew 11:28–29 NIV
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew :28-29
