Simon Peter did not drown and neither will you.
Ø Simon may not have walked very far but he walked further than the rest of the disciples.
Ø It is safer to be on the waves with Jesus than in the boat without Him!
Ø Simon faltered because he looked at his circumstance and not his savior.
Ø We are commanded to keep our eyes of faith firmly fixed on Jesus.
As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

Why did Jesus walk on the water?
Ø So the disciples would know He was sufficient for them.
Ø The storm was a highway that brought Jesus to them!
The problem was only a vehicle that brought Jesus to them!

Following the amazing miracles that jesus had just preformed of feeding five thousand the disciples departed across the sea of Galilee.
Jesus had just dismissed the crowd and went up to the top of the mountion to pray.
That same night about 3 or 4 miles out in the lake a storm hit the sea and the disciples.
and when the storm hit the disciples begin to get afraid.
but right in the mist of the storm the disciples seen jesus walking on the water.
the disciples did not believe that this was jesus.
they thought he was an evil spirit or a ghost.
but jesus had to reassure them. he said it is i don't be afraid.
have you ever been in a storm in your life and jesus came right on time.
i wasn't there but i can almost imagine these the fear on the disciples face.
peter said jesus if its you then let me walk on water with you.
jesus said come and peter walked out on faith.
peter was walking on the water until he took his eyes of jesus and begin to lose his faith.
he start paying attention to the storm and begin to get afraid
Thats what we do sometimes.
we have faith and is on Jesus side until we get hit with a storm.
when the storm come we take our eye of f jesus we are going to fall every time.
sometime jesus puts stumbling blocks trails, and tribulations in our way to test our faith.
we have to keep our eye on jesus.
we have to know that jesus will not let us down.
sometimes jesus allows us to lose a love one to see how strong our faith is.
we might be going thru our storm now but we have to continue to have faith and keep our eye on jesus.
soon all storms will be over.
we have to keep walking on the water and don't get afraid of the storm.
our storms can be anything but we have to stay strong.
we have to hold on just a little while longer.
we have to know that jesus is going to be with us.
hold on when we going thru a hard time.
hold on when we begin to sink.
hold on when the devil tries to trick us.
hold on when we sick.
hold on when we are up.
hold on when we are down.
gotta keep running this christen race.

cant be like peter and lose faith.
gotta know that soon and very soon everything will be alright cant take our eye off jesus.
we gotta have faith that jesus can do everything but fail

jesus will be there for you.

Where will your anchor be during the storms of life?
Powerful storms were nothing new for the Sea of Galilee.
Actually the Sea of Galilee is an inland lake about six miles wide and twelve miles long.
The sea is positioned several hundred feet below the level of the Mediterranean Sea and is known for being very warm.
But when the cold air comes down off Mt. Herman and the dark clouds make their way to Galilee, no one on the sea is exempt from the fury.
Even in Bible times, the Sea of Galilee was known for its tumultuous weather.
In our verses today the storm came quickly and was enough to cause several life-long fishermen to fear for their lives.
When we look at the storm in this story, we are reminded of the fact that the storms of our lives often come upon us quickly and unexpectedly.
We each experience trials, tragedies, and devastations at some point in our lives.
Our country has experienced sudden storms and trials.
From the Vietnam War that claimed many young lives to the bombings in Oklahoma City to the devastation of the attacks on September 11, storms and trials have hit our nation through the years.
There is no way to prevent such trials or to deal with them.
The only hope we have during the storms of life is in Jesus Christ.
