Stop Procrastinating, Time Is Running Out!
Colonel Rahl, was the commander of the British troops in Trenton, New Jersey during the American Revolutionary War.
It has been said, that he was playing cards when a courier brought an urgent message stating that General George Washington was crossing the Delaware River.
Rahl put the letter in his pocket and didn’t bother to read it until the game was finished.
Then, realizing the seriousness of the situation, he hurriedly tried to rally his men to meet the coming attack, but his procrastination was his undoing.
He and many of his men were killed and the rest of the regiment were captured.
Nolbert Quayle said, “Only a few minutes delay cost him his life, his honor, and the liberty of his soldiers.
Earth’s history is strew with the wrecks of half-finished plans and unexecuted resolutions.
‘Tomorrow is the excuse of the lazy and refuge of the incompetent.”

I. What is Procrastination?
Procrastination is defined:Putting off something intentionally and consistently either by delaying or excusing one’s self from doing whatever it is.
Some Synonyms;
1. Defer Action,
2. Use delay tactics,
3. Drug one’s feet or heels,
4. Take one’s time,
5. Play for time,
Play the waiting game.
One of the many things we do here on earth is to Procrastinate.
We all do it; men, women, and children.
Men and children are the worst one’s who procrastinate,
If you are married, just ask your wife.
If you are married just ask your wife,
How many ladies here can say they have given their husband’s a honey do list?
You know a list of chores to do; such as,
Wash the Car,
Take out the Trash,
Paint the House,
Feed the Animals,
Mow the Yard,
Pick up your Clothes.
How many men can honestly say, they have been given a honey do list?
What do men do when they are given a list of chores?
They lose the list,
They try to put it off for as long as they can,
They develop a hearing and memory problems,
If you have children, this is how they procrastinate,
You tell them to clean your room, you get, I’ll do it later!
You tell them to take out the trash, you get, in a minute!
You ask them if they done there home work, you get, I don’t have to have it done right now!

Why Do People Procrastinate?
Putting the cart before the horse.
People believe that you must feel motivated in order to begin a task.
Fear of failure,

People believe that it’s easier not to try at all, then to try an fail.
Hoping the person asking will forget about it,
If I wait long enough, they will forget about it.
Insecurity,
Insurcurity,
Perfectionism,
People trying to do things perfectly can put pressure on themselves, and it causes them to feel so stressed out that it causes them to procrastinate.
Lack of desire,
This overly demanding standard keeps you from even getting started.
People simply procrastinate because they don’t want to do the task.
Procrastination; Is easy to do, easy to rationalize, and tough to over come.

Mason Cooly said, “Procrastination makes easy things hard and hard things harder.”

Procrastination, The Most Used, Most Harmful, and Most Effective Tool of The Devil!
Gloria Pitzer wrote a little poem about procrastination;
“Procrastination is my sin, it brings me naught but sorrow, I know I should stop it,
in fact I will…tomorrow.”
Procrastination, will send the unsaved to hell, and will render the saved useless in witnessing to others.
Why don’t Christian witness to others?
I’m not smart enough.

I don’t want to make anyone mad.
(Fear)
I don’t want to offend anyone with my beliefs.
(Just another excuse for fear)
My friends will make fun of me.
(If you have friend’s that make fun of your beliefs, then there not your friends)
None of my Christian friends do it.
(Just because they don’t, doesn’t excuse you of what you know God wants you to do)
I’m not a very good Christian.
( You have some sin(s) in your life, and you need to Get Right with God)
All of my friends are Christians.
(Not all Christians are Born Again)
I don’t know where to start.
(Study the Word of God, give your testimony of what Jesus had done for you.)
It’s the preachers job.
(It’s the job of every Born Again Christian to Witness, Jesus commissioned every born again Christian to be a witness to Him)
I’ll do it later.
