God Is Able

2. GOD IS ABLE

INTRODUCTION: Men who believe in God believe His power to be infinite. This is largely mental assent. They see His power in the sun, moon, and stars. But man’s power to travel to the moon excites more wonder than God’s power to create the moon. The failure on the part of men in general to see God’s power and respond to it is sin. But how much more sinful is the Christian who does not set himself to know and experience for himself the power of God.

Pray then for a heart conviction that God is able.

I. He is able to save to the uttermost them that come unto God by Him ().

II. He “is able to keep you from falling and to present you without blemish before the presence of His glory with rejoicing …” ().

“You, who by God’s power are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (). “I … am persuaded that He is able …” ( KJV; see also ).

III. He is able to deliver.

The three Hebrew young men ().

IV. He “is able to make all grace abound unto you” ( ASV).

This includes financial grace.

V. He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us …” ( ASV).

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” ()

“Have faith in God” ().
