Pastoral Prayer from

Psalm 104:1–6 HCSB
1 My soul, praise Yahweh! Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with majesty and splendor. 2 He wraps Himself in light as if it were a robe, spreading out the sky like a canopy, 3 laying the beams of His palace on the waters above, making the clouds His chariot, walking on the wings of the wind, 4 and making the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants. 5 He established the earth on its foundations; it will never be shaken. 6 You covered it with the deep as if it were a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
Father,
I bless You my God, my Lord, You are ver great. You are clothed with majesty and splendor. We view the wonders of creation by the eye of faith, and learn to look at the seas, the mountains, the beasts and birds, the sun and moon and stars — that all these You created.
This world, this Psalm is a cosmos, a world set on fire with praise. I want to participate in this praise. All creation from the mountain summits to the sparkling of the brooks that pass through the valleys below praise You God. Certainly, I can open my mouth to praise You and give You honor. Certainly, from my heart my thoughts can form with deep affection to You who has created me. You are glorious!
May You be praised in the reading of Your Word. May you be praised in the singing of songs to You. May You be glorified in our giving. May You be magnified in the preaching of Your Word.
Praise the Lord! Bless the Lord! You are my God and You are very great!
We pray this in the name of the King of kings, Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.
