In part 2 of the reunion between Joseph and his brothers, we are treated to a wonderful example of forgiveness and reconciliation. The very trials that might make Joseph hate and despise his brothers, are also the very trials that have taught him God’s sovereignty and enabled him to forgive. His bigger view of God (which has grown through suffering) is the faith that he needs to look past the ill intentions of others and to offer them love and kindness. It is a reminder to us that we can forgive others based on what Jesus has done, rather than having to wait for their change of heart. With such grace and love, we can be used by God for their growth and transformation also.
