God’s Word a Change Agent

16 Now when this epistle is read among you,

see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans,

and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

17 And say to Archippus,

“Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

18 This salutation by my own hand—Paul.

Remember my chains.

Grace be with you. Amen.

M.O.I. – Christian Instruction

C.I.T. – Paul wanted the Colossians to understand the importance of instruction and the carrying out of it.

Thesis – Christians must understand that instruction is for their benefit if it is carried out.

Proposition – I want the church to see that the Bible is important for instruction, but only if it is obeyed.

Probing Question – How does this passage teach that instruction and obedience is of utmost importance?

Unifying Word – Instructions

Transitional Sentence – Reading is becoming a lost art in America.  However, much of what we learn about God and Christian living comes from His Word.  When read It enables us to truly enjoy our salvation if it is obeyed.

I.  God’s Word is meant to be read.  Vs. 16

II.  God’s Word is meant to be obeyed.  Vs. 17
