BAD LEADERSHIP EXAMPLES

Eli’s Sons: Phinehas and Hophni (1 Samuel 2:12)

they represent: greed and immorality… and they were bold about it.

they were greedy - they took what belonged to the Lord.

Greed: they took what belonged to the Lord. ()

Immortality: they were sleeping with the women who were dedicated to the service of the tabernacle ().

and they were not at all hypocritical.. they were bold about what they were doing.

Now i am no perfect leader...

but I would not be so bold to throw out your mom jokes… to joke about sexual sins.... I would not be so bold to take from the Lord (whether its His glory, or something that belongs to the church.)

Want to know what the Bible says about those who lead like Eli’s sons?

If we live under mans leadership… we will be lazy, rebellious, and disrepectful.

Now the sons of Eli were scoundrels who had no respect for the Lord

We need to remember that we are God’s leadership, we are first to serve, we are loyal, and respectful

They disrespected God, His people, and His leaders… when we do that we are following the leadership of Eli’s sons...

1 Samuel 2:17 NLT

So the sin of these young men was very serious in the Lord’s sight, for they treated the Lord’s offerings with contempt.

Don’t mistake that what you think is not serious is not serious to God.

GOOD LEADERSHIP EXAMPLE

Jesus

Jesus humbled Himself ()

Jesus did not seek a position but to do God’s will (; )

Jesus taught that the servant is greatest of all

Jesus developed close relationship

Jesus reached out to the ones know one would.

Abraham

Abraham prayed for the sinners (Sodom and Gommorah) - showing us that he was concerned for them.

When we lead we should act concerned. The opposite is disinterest.
