Of the Anguish of the Soul

Introduction

Throughout the last several months, Pastor has been taking us on a journey through 1st and 2nd Peter. He has encouraged us, “Thrive to Survive.” As we have thought about this word Thrive and the theme, there is no doubt when some of us have experienced anguish in our soul over decisions that have been made, or circumstances in our life.

Through all of these

I. Anguish brought by Absence ()

Isaiah 9:20 KJV 1900

And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; And he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: They shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

There is no genuine satisfaction without Christ

II. Anguish is Extinguished in His Presence (Isaiah 9)

Recognize that we must be willing to accept the responsibility for the anguish the are experiencing. There are things that we can do to overcome these periods of depression.
