INTRODUCTION

The disciples remembered this when Jesus made a whip and corrected the religious leaders for misrepresenting God.
Recently I have been directly lied too....
I have seen laziness -
I have heard inappropriate jokes.
This is God’s house, and not a place to misrepresent God!
Today many of the church have stopped striving to give God the best and are doing the very bare minimum,
Now I am not perfect!
You may say, “well Nate what about you!”
Well this Message was for me first… but I am in repentance of this!
I am afraid that there will be some that will not repent..... maybe even close friends I will have to cut out...
the Bible says

There is an attitude in the church in general.... even in this church it is starting.
that we do whatever we want.... and act like we love God.

Are the demons better Christians then you are?
Are the demons better than the christian friends you associate with?
because not only do they believe and know about God, but they fear Him (), they fall at His feet (), they even obey Him (), they even are surrendered to Him (), they even worship Him ()!

Kinda scary when we realize that maybe demons may be a better Christians than you...

Do you know what Jesus did to those who misrepresented God?
He called them out, called them hypocrites, white washed tombs (mt 23:27), he corrected them so many times.
What is so interesting to me is that Jesus had more of an issue with the religious leaders than with sinners.
Do you know what God did to the selfish leaders that claim to serve Him?
well He killed them…
Nadab and Abihu were blatantly displeasing to God.
They did what God hated in His house...
Same happened with Annias and Saphira in
Don’t mistake that what you think is not serious is not serious to God.

Do you know what God will do to those have taught on His behalf?
Jesus called for us to be the biggest servant: so there should be no laziness in His church!
In we see that the church took charge of serving.... while the pastor focused on the Word of God.
Really that is how it should be here… but it is also true that Jesus said
So I will not hesitate to clean up after the church.
But the church is better ran when the pastor is focused on feeding the people the Word of God and the leadership is serving the church.
Now many times in church leadership you will hear I am to busy or tired to do this or that… well then maybe you shouldn't be a leader.. and you should just sit down and let the real leaders step up and care for you..
There is no laziness in the kingdom of God....

Whoever is lazy regarding his work is also a brother to the master of destruction.
God deserves the absolute best we can give him… now lately I have shown a lot of grace especially to my leadership…

Jesus called us to follow Him - so doing what God hates in His house is following your ways not Him.
Jesus called us to represent Him in this World - so if we are lying, gossiping, saying crude jokes, listening to things we shouldn't we are misrepresenting Him
Jesus called for us to love each other: so there shouldn't be favorites among each other..... if we do you are misrepresenting God…
Now we all fail… but we should be willing to forgive each other… but a true friend brings correction.

but I would not be so bold to throw out your mom jokes… to joke about sexual sins.... to be lazy, to lie, ...I would not be so bold to take from the Lord (whether its His glory, or something that belongs to the church.)
This youth group has been known for great things… but I fear that we are getting too comfortable...
We should be striving to give God our best work!

So many Christian are battling depression...
Now in most cases of depression it is selfishness...
why me, why do I suck, why am I so ugly, why is my life so boring, why am I not cool?
If we did what God was telling us not only would you be building up Gods kingdom but also yourself!
Maybe you know someone who is doing the bare minimum and if we are honest they are a hypocrite.. tell them… if they dont repent cut them out....
The Bible says

either they need to be warned or you have the wrong friends… even if they are church people...

Honestly I dont know what more dangerous… hanging out with two-sided, lukewarm christians, or a straight up sinner...
because Jesus hung out with the straight up sinners but the lukewarm christian is deceptive to you and themselves...
I am warning you
You may need to repent
you may need to lead a friend to repentance
you may need to leave a friend
you may need to not join a ministry.
If a friend or ministry is not pushing you towards Christ then chances are they are pulling you away...
staying with them does not help them it enables them to think that the way they are is okay.
Simply put
God wants your best not your leftovers
