Depending on your perspective, what the rainbow reminds you of is a great example. The rainbow as of 1984 has been hijacked. if you ask a young person today what a rainbow means, what answer do you think you will get? There’s a pretty big chance we not hear the divine viewpoint.
Satan is a counterfitter, he supplants the promise of God with the perversion of sin instead.

God’s covenant. Stated 7x
Covenant is a binding agreement. Marriage is a covenant. Some covenants are unconditional. Some conditional. Marriage is unconditional bi-lateral. The Noahic covenant is both unconditional and unilateral.
A covenant reflected the character of a person. His name was bound to his word.
God spoke to Noah and to his sons
God spoke to Noah and to his sons
Makes a unilateral (one-sided), unconditional binding or pact
Noah never asked God. God initiated it
Noah never deserved or did something to earn it.
God established it because of His grace.

Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you,

The New Covenant
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;
and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
“This is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;
for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

A bow (Hebrew for hunting bow of a warrior) in the Sky
A bow (Hebrew for hunting bow of a warrior) in the Sky
קֶשֶׁת qesheth, keh´-sheth; from 7185 in the orig. sense (of 6983) of bending; a bow, for shooting (hence fig. strength) or the iris:—× arch (-er), + arrow, bow ([-man, -shot]).
God's ‘bow’ is used in connection with judgment
God's ‘bow’ is used in connection with judgment
If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;
He has bent His bow and made it ready.
Instead, after the flood, God laid His bow down. He will never again destroy the earth with a global flood.
++Visible reminder - rainbow will be in cloud
++Physical - not spiritual - all living creatures
++Perpetual - as long as the present earth lasts
++Universal - “between me and you”
++Unconditional - Not conditioned on man’s response
The “sign” of the rainbow is appropriate.
The “sign” of the rainbow is appropriate.
It consists of the reflection of the rays of the sun in the particles of moisture in the clouds. The water which destroyed the earth causes the rainbow. Also, the rainbow appears at the end of a storm. So this sign assures man that the storm of God’s wrath (in a flood) is over. - Bob Deffinbaugh
Most interesting is the fact that the rainbow is not designed so much for man’s benefit (in this text, at least) but for God’s. God said that the rainbow would cause Him to remember His covenant with man. What a comfort to know that God’s faithfulness is our guarantee.

Presence of God: God sits on the throne with a rainbow surrounding him. It reminds us of the covenant keeping God.
