God's Sovereingty
Geneva Walker, 71, of Nashville, was a cautious driver with a spotless record: no wrecks, tickets, or problems. But on a particular Wednesday last year as she made a left turn on her way to work, another car plowed into the right side of her vehicle.
En route to the hospital, Geneva prayed, asking God to show her why He had allowed this to happen. She didn't believe in accidents; so why, Geneva wondered, had this happened?
Within three hours she had an answer. Though she didn't seem badly injured, doctors in the emergency room ordered a set of X-rays. The technician noticed a disturbing image on the film. There was a tumor on her kidney. Further tests showed it was malignant, and surgery was scheduled. The cancerous kidney was successfully removed with no further treatments required. Had it not been for her accident, the cancer would not have been detected until too late, "God allowed that 'accident,'" Geneva said, "for my good. It literally saved my life."
