Spiritual Armor

-   The belt of truth, so that we can know, understand, believe, and obey the truth of God as revealed in the Bible and in Jesus.

-   The breastplate of righteousness, so that we are not satisfied with known sin in our lives.  We must confess any sin and, to the degree our spiritual maturity allows, live a godly lifestyle.

-   The shoes of the preparation of the gospel of peace, so that we can rest in the truth of the promises God has given us.

-   The shield of faith to ward off attacks of doubt, unbelief, discouragement, and temptation.

-   The helmet of salvation, on which rests our hope in the future, and which enables us to live in this world according to the value system of the next.

-   The sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, so that we can use the Scriptures specifically in life’s situations to fend off attacks of the enemy and put him to flight.
