19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth
and someone should bring that person back,
why? b/c...
20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way
will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
Here is the updated schedule reflecting changes and adding September. As always please switch with one another if something doesn't work.
Thanks for your serving in this way
The New International Version. (2011). (). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan.
This is the last line of James. How we might read this, or might want to read this. The unhealthy ways to read this.
James is saying, “I need to go turn some sinners!”
Make a sign, scream and shout
James is saying, “I need to point out somone’s error.”
James seems to say, when someone wanders, it is on us to bring them back.
Go tell “them” their behavior is wrong
No one is too far gone
Go tell someone about “them” and their sin.

James is finally giving me liscense to root out the sin in the lives of others. “I need to go speak the TRUTH” and be COUNTED!
GO tell a group of “them” that they are sinners and have to TURN from their ways!
Signs again, op eds, laws perhaps
Do what you can to get people to STOP SINNING!
There is this part of us that reads this and falls right back into exactly what James has been telling us not to do for five chapters. We think, finally the telescope to look at someone else’s issues, but remember James is a mirrior.
But remember this isnt freestanding - its not a page in your devotional. Nothing in scripture is meant to be read without context.
Many of us have categories for this part of James, we assume we know what it means without really looking at it. Without really hearing it.
When we hear the word “Sinner, wander, error, and sin” something pops into our heads
When we hear the word “truth and turn” something else pops into our heads
A vunerable healing community, that brings one another back.

Loving Others Enough to Challenge them
In Love, In Humility, and with grace (AIMING exclusively at “bringing them back”) And relying on the Holy Spirit to Convict
Problem is :
We don’t have the patience to walk with people.
Loving people is HARD
When is our obligation to one another exhausted?
Sometimes we hear the “turns” and turn to judgement (but James has already warned against that)
Ways people can wander from the truth:
Wandering inside
Wandering outside
Wandering with spiritual clothes on - Son at home
Ask yourself.
