I. Ice Breaker: Matt(10 Minutes)

Clear Focus:

Say:
Help yourself to these toothpicks and marshmallows, and do whatever you’d like with them.
Say:
You’ve got three minutes.
Each of us approaches a class with different hopes and expectations.
If teachers press you to be more specific, shrug your shoulders. Make an excuse to step out of the room and stay away for at least three minutes. When you return, ask: What did you accomplish while I was gone? What did you think of the instructions I gave you?
On separate notes, write five goals that are important to you as a teacher. (3 Minutes)
s. Say: Decide which of your goals is the most important. Stick that note to your forehead. Place goals two and three on your cheeks and goals four and five on your shoulders. Take a couple of minutes to look at each other’s goals.

Allow teachers to mingle.
Form groups of four. Say: For the next three minutes, work with your group to build the tallest tower of marshmallows and toothpicks you can build.

Then ask: What did you learn about other teachers’ goals? What other discoveries did you make?

Call time after three minutes, and ask: Which experience was more enjoyable? Why? How was the first experience like or unlike what can happen in our classrooms? How can lack of a clear purpose harm our efforts with kids?

II. Thank You & Encouragement: Matt(5 Minutes)

Thank you so much for being here.
I hope these things are never just seen as lectures.
I pray they are seen for the heart behind them.
Encouraging and equipping.
You are appreciated Valued.
Don’t give up by listening to the lies of the enemy.
I have been there.
Ready to throw in the towel.
Giving up is not of God, but of the enemy.
I know kids can be challenging, and want to challenge you.
You matter.
You are making an eternal impact and investment in God’s Kingdom.
These kids need Jesus.

III. The Mission/ Duty: Matt (10 Minutes)

2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Other translations say to study to show yourself approved.
Another way of looking at this is are you being faithful?
We have a mission before us.
A commission.
Given by God.
Our goal is to raise people like Timothy.
2 Timothy 3:14–15 NKJV
14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Timothy had people like you, teaching him the scriptures.
He had the foundation.
Because the people around him knew the mission.
They knew the goal.
They were faithful.

IV. Teacher Preparedness: Nickie (15 Minutes)

V. Classroom Management: Kevin 15(Minutes)

Some final thoughts:
Temperament:
You can’t be too nice.
You can’t be angry.
This will make or break you.
Don’t blow your witness for a childish thing.
Tone of voice is everything.
Always give encouragement and praise.
Don’t show favoritism.
It isn’t what is taught, it is what is caught.
The behavior and example that you set will be observed by them.
Remember they are sponges absorbing your behavior
We need to be consistent.
This will help the
