Reading: Luke 1:26-38

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David                                                          Luke 1:32 (NIV)

I.   He will be Great

     A.  But announced to a Humble servant

     B.  But announced in an Obscure village

     C.  You will call Him Jesus

II.  He will be God’s Son (Is. 9:6-7)

     A.  God’s Spirit will Overshadow you

     B.  For unto us a Son is Given

     C.  He will be called Mighty God

III. He will receive David’s Throne (2Sam 7:12-16)

     A.  He will establish a House for God

     B.  He will reign Forever

     A.  He will be called Prince of Peace

The Bottom Line:

Do not be Afraid, we have found Favor with God, through His Son.

6 For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

     Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace

     there will be no end.

He will reign on David’s throne

     and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

     with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty

     will accomplish this.

Isaiah 9:6-7

12 When your days are over and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, who will come from your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men. 15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’”

2 Samuel 7:12-16 (NIV)
