1 Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper. 2 And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. 3 Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.” 4 And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, “Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.”
5 Then the king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.”
So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. 6 Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said,
Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.
7 And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”
8 So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”
9 Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” 11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

In the Name of the One who called me, this night your victory will be total and it will be permanent.
When my daughter was preaching and she started referring to 2Kings chapter 5, I said O God she had seen my note.
Wonderful wonderful preaching
2Kings chapter 5 from verse 1 to 14:
1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.
3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.
5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.
7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? Wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? How much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
In the Name of the One who called me, this night your victory will be total and it will be permanent.
When we talk about complete victory that is when we talk about all round victory; we are also talking about victory complete and total.
It means (just like my daughter told you) there is no area in your life where you are suffering defeat – it means no reproach.
Naaman had a reproach; a reproach that reduced victories in every area of life to nothing.
He was successful warrior, he was a General, he was at the top of his career; he was wealthy - You can see the kind of money he was taking to Elijah; that man was loaded.
He was famous; the king loved him but he was a leper.
That same ‘but’ reduced everything else to nothing.
verse 1 to 5 tells us that Sarah was despised by her maid because she could get pregnant and the maid got pregnant; the maid made fun of the mistress because the mistress has a reproach in her life.
But then God moved and the one that was despised now could laugh.
I listened to the testimonies of tonight, particularly of that Pastor of mine who had been barren for twenty-four year but my God moved.
It does not matter how long your problem had been my God will move tonight.
In 1Samuel chapter 1, you can read the story from verse 1 to 20 (1Samuel chapter 1verse 1 to 20):
Hannah was loved by her husband; the husband was treating her very well but she had a reproach – she was barren.
The second woman tormented her and told her: what are you doing in my husband’s house; what is the use of a fruitless tree?
But God moved.
On behalf of someone here tonight, the Lord of Host will move.
In 2Kings chapter 4 from verse 8 to 17, the Shunammite woman had everything except one thing.
The Bible called her a great woman
If God says somebody is great that means the fellow must be great - She was wealthy, she was influential;
When the man of God said can I introduced you to the king?
She said, you do not need to bother I know the king.
Can I introduce you to the commander-in-chief?
She said no problem I know the commander-in-chief.
She was great but she was barren until God moved.
God can move in various ways to remove your reproach.
And one of the ways He can move is to silence the mockers.
And if the Lord lives that is the topic we will be discussing in September.
Almighty God is going to silence all the mockers in your live permanently.
1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy,
Because of Your truth.
2 Why should the Gentiles say,
“So where is their God?”
3 But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases.
He said my God will show them that I AM in the heavens and I do what I please.
In verse 1 to 3, the Bible says why should ye then say where is my God?
He said my God will show them that I AM in the heavens and I do what I please.
In 2Kings chapter verse 1 to 7, the creditors were already coming to foreclose poor widow to sell her sons to bondage but God moved.
In 2Kings chapter 2 verse 19 to 22, the elders in Jericho said to Elisha – look at our city, everything is beautiful but we have a reproach; God moved and the reproach ended that day.
In the Name that is above every other name, every reproach in your life will end today.
I don’t know what problem it is you have that you cannot discuss with anyone, in the Name that is above every other name that problem will be over tonight.
He said, Son, there is somebody in the crowd, an important man, wealthy, influential, he has a problem.
What is the problem?
He will finish eating at the dining table and he had plenty of money to buy anything he wanted to buy and they will come and clear the table and throw the excess food into the cabbage;
And when nobody is watching he will go in to the cabbage to eat because there was something in him that says until you eat from that place no satisfaction.
And my God moved and got rid of the demon.
When he was sharing the testimony with me because it was a testimony he could not share in the open.
He said, how can I tell people that me, with all I have, I am still eating from the excess food that he took from my table and throw in the cabbage!
I don’t know what problem it is you have that you cannot discuss with anyone, in the Name that is above every other name that problem will be over tonight.
So, I am going to ask to stand on your feet and lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, every reproach in my life remove it tonight.
Open your mouth and cry to the Almighty God.
Every reproach, You know the problems that I cannot discuss with anyone, problems that I cannot tell the Pastor, problems that I cannot tell anyone; Lord, every reproach in my life remove tonight, remove tonight, remove tonight. My Father and my God, please, every reproach in my life that is not allowing my victory to be complete, please Lord remove it tonight, remove it tonight; every reproach, every reproach in my life; problem I have which I cannot tell anyone, please Lord, remove it tonight. That problem I cannot share with my wife, with my husband, I cannot share with my Pastor, every reproach in my life please Lord remove it tonight; remove it tonight. Thank You my Father. Every reproach in my life, remove it tonight, remove it tonight Lord; remove it tonight. The secret battle that I have been fighting all alone, that I cannot discuss with anyone, please Daddy give me victory there tonight, remove reproach from my life. Thank You Father.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
And so shall it be in Jesus’ name.
Please be seated.
We are using Naaman as a case study because when God finished with him, the Bible says there was no scars left, his skin became like that of a new born baby.
His victory was total – it was complete; it was absolute – and he was never a leper again.
So, his victory was not just absolute, it was permanent.
And the journey to this permanent victory started from within his house.
There was a maid there; there was a maid who was even brought from a foreign country;
It was this maid who said to the wife, said to the Queen, how I wish that this General would be in my land, there is help at hand.
God is going to reveal to you that help at hand tonight.
You see, many at times when you need help, you need what we called first-aid – help that must come immediately before we begin to talk about other things – immediate help.
1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
10 Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend,
Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity;
Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.
There are at times when you need help and you need it immediately
verse 1 says our God is the ever present Help in trouble.
verse 10 says a neighbour at hand is better than a brother that is a far off.
There are at times when you need help and you need it immediately
for example, from verse 22 to 25 ( verse 22 to 25) tells us that the children of Israel were on their way to the promise land and they got to Marah and they could not drink the water because it was bitter.
And they were ready to pond on Moses but then God showed Moses a tree that was already growing at that place that turned the bitter water sweet.
In the story I read or I mentioned earlier on - 2Kings chapter 4 verse 1 to 7 - the widow did not know that what God will use to perform the miracle of the deliverance from the creditor was a pot of oil that was already in the house; and neighbours with empty vessels that were already there.
Today, in the Name that is above every other name, that help that is already near you that will lead to your permanent victory God will reveal it to you.
In verse 24 to 27, when some people said that Jesus and the Disciples should come and pay tax, the Almighty God guided Peter to a river that was nearby to go and catch a fish and the fish already had money in his mouth.
Even the one that God will use to help you might be already seating next to you; they might be a housemaid, might be somebody in your house already, might be somebody in your office; it might even be somebody who will help you say amen loud and clear tonight.
Many at times you need help urgently, urgently.
Stand on your feet; lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, send help to me now.
And because we told the people to come that they will all be feed; just trusting God for money and the people had come; the convention was on and I ran out of money – when I say I ran out, I mean ‘no kobo’ left.
And wife came: Darling, we need five thousand naira for the food for today.
I said, I see.
When do you need the money?
Is it now or today?
She said, what is the different.
She said, today.
And she left.
God, I am in Your hand.
Where the money will come from is up to You.
It does not long after that (I have told you the story before) one man was driving pass the express-way, saw the activities here and branched.
And said, what is going on here?
I said, we are having a convention; he was in flowing agbada.
Oh convention!
I said, yes.
That is a beautiful idea.
I said, yes sir.
He said next year I will be part of this.
I am talking of food today, this man is talking of next year.
But then he said, but for now take this one; and he gave me one thousand naira.
I said, thank You Lord.
I bless him and he left.
I said, one down, four to go.
It was not long after that that some of the youth came led by a Pastor;
I saw an envelope in his hand and then he began to preach:
Daddy, we the youth we see how you are labouring for us, how you are feeding us spiritually; we don’t think you should be the one who will bothering about how we are going to be feed physically.
I said, give me this envelope; you can preach later.
And he gave me the envelope and I opened it – two thousand naira.
Haa! Three down, two to go.
It was not long after that that I sent to my wife: when exactly do you say you need the money?
I could swagger because God has provided.
Stand on your feet; lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, send help to me now.
Open your mouth and cry to the Almighty God.
Right now send help to me now, now, now, immediately, immediately; this night, not tomorrow morning, send help to me now. Send help to me now; Lord God Almighty, send help to me now, now; today, this very moment; send help to me now. Send help to me now. Please Lord God Almighty, tonight, this very night, send help to me. Send help to me now, right now Father, not tomorrow, today, before the sun rises send help to me now Daddy. Send help to me; send help to me now; right now, right now, even where I am now, send help to me, send help to me right now. Thank You Jesus. Send help to me now. Almighty God, please send help to me now; right now, right now, right now, Father send help to me now. Thank You Jesus. Send help to me now.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
So shall it be in Jesus’ name.
Please be seated.
And then as the story continues, we see that through the help of this little girl suddenly Naaman was connected to the one who will help his destiny.
As the Almighty God lives before the end of this month God will connect you to the helper of your destiny.
You just need to watch the story: the girl spoke to the wife – it is amazing – the wife did not do anything.
The girl spoke to the wife but while she was speaking to the wife other people heard.
One of the people who heard went in and told Naaman;
Naaman went and told his own king;
His king wrote to the king of Israel;
The king of Israel tore his dress;
Somebody saw what happen and reported the case to Elisha.
God works in mysterious ways; His wonders took a form.
I don’t know how He is going to do it but I want to assure somebody today; in His mysterious way He will link you up.
In Exodus chapter 4, you can read it from verse1 to 16 ( to 16), Moses was the one God called: go into Egypt and deliver my people.
Moses said I am a stammerer, I don’t know how to talk.
God said, no problem I will link you up and He brought in Aaron.
Later on in verse 8 to 13, when the Ammalekites came to attack the children of Israel, the same Aaron and Hur they are there lifting up the hands of Moses so the he could achieve his mission.
In verse 9, the Bible says Joshua the son of Nun was full with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him.
God had a plan for Joshua; He linked him up with Moses.
God revealed to Joseph - you are going to be great; even your family member will be bowing down to you.
And then see how God arranged it – the brothers sold him to Potiphar; Potiphar’s wife tried to get him to sin and he refused; he landed in prison where he met two prisoners; he interpreted their dream and one died, one got back to the palace;
And then the king had a dream that nobody could interpret.
And the former prisoner, the ex-convict, remembered Joseph and brought Joseph into the palace.
How God will do it I do not know but in the Name of the One who sent me, in a miraculous way, to the one who will help your destiny God will connect you.
God will connect you.
I say it again, God will connect you.
Stand on your feet, and lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, use any method but connect me to those who will help my destiny.
Sever years ago I wanted to go to University, I could have gone to Ibadan, I could have gone to Ife, I just decide to go to Nssuka.
I can tell you the story that led to that but I don’t have the time; probably you have heard the story before.
When at Nssuka, there was a lecturer an Indian; trouble came, we were driven home and then disappear, did not know where he went;
I finished up my first degree and I wanted to go further so I came for common wealth scholarship interview at the University of Lagos.
Well, I could have won the common wealth scholarship but I told you before in Mathematics, it is either you know the answer of the question or you don’t know – there is no guess work in mathematics.
Every question they asked me, I knew the answers – they were very simple questions.
I was wondering, these people who are asking me question do they know that I am Special Honours Graduate of Mathematics.
But after they finished asking me the questions, there was a man there who was sleeping why they were asking me questions.
And so they woke him up and they said do you have a question for him?
He said, O yes.
Where is Entebbe?
Haa!
I said, Sir, I am not here for Geography.
And everybody laughed.
I did not know he was the Chairman.
But the way they laughed I knew I had already failed.
But as I step out of the place, who did I see?
I saw my former lecturer.
Enoch, what are you doing here?
I said, I have come for common wealth scholarship but it looks as if I have failed.
He said, what do you want in scholarship?
I said, I want to go and further my studies Abroad.
He said you do not need to go anywhere, I know your stuff; come, come and study at the University of Lagos and I will supervise you.
Stand on your feet, and lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, use any method but connect me to those who will help my destiny.
That was when I got born again when I got born again.
That is why I am standing before you right now.
Stand on your feet, and lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, use any method but connect me to those who will help my destiny.
Open your mouth.
O Lord, whatever You want to use Lord just connect me, connect me to those who will help my destiny; connect me O Lord; connect me to those who will help my destiny; those who will help my destiny connect me Almighty God; use Your own method, any method You want, whichever mysterious ways You want to work, connect me to those who will help my destiny. Connect me to those who will help my destiny. Please Lord, connect me to those who will help my destiny; connect me soon; do it soonest Lord. Those who will help my destiny connect me to them; connect me to them; connect me to them; connect me to them; connect me to those who will help my destiny, do it this month Lord; connect me to those who will help my destiny, please do it. Thank You Father. Please Lord help me, connect me, use Your various method, whatever method You want to use just let me get connected to those who will help my destiny; please do it very quickly and I will give You glory forever; I will give You the glory forever. Thank You Father.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Amen.
Please be seated.
And then as we continue in the story of Naaman, we found that after that God connected him to the one who will help his destiny, who will give him complete absolute and permanent victory, he nearly destroy the plan of God for his life.
The man of God says go and wash in Jordan and you will be clean and he got angry.
Thank You Father.
The Lord ask me to tell someone, whoever that fellow is I rejoice with you because Daddy says He will heal you from your head to your toes.
Thank You Father.
The Lord asks me to tell someone, the force of darkness that has been tormenting you will not return.
O glory be to God.
I rejoice, I rejoice with this lady; the Lord asked me to tell you, your present pregnancy will not come down until maturity.
This is a very serious one because the Lord said there is someone here either in this auditorium or in the old arena, He says you belong to a gang, He asked me to tell you that that gang is going to be wiped out and He asked me to tell you run for your life, leave that gang and come to Jesus.
I have delivered the message; if you think I am lying, wait and see.
Get out of that gang or you will not see the end of July.
Do not say I did not warn you.
I am not the one warning you, it is what God said.
Okay.
Now, Naaman had two big personal problems.
Problem number one: he was proud
He was a General, successful General.
I don’t know what a leper could be proud about but he was proud - the rivers in my country they are better than Jordan!
If they are better, go and wash and let us see what will happen.
And he was a man of temper – the Bible said he went away in a rage.
And the word of God says,
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”
James chapter 4 verse 6: it says God resist the proud.
Check my beloveth if pride is your problem do something about it quickly.
9 Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry,
For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
If you are a man of temper, (forgive me for saying so) you are a fool; unless you deal with that urgently.
If you are a man of temper, (forgive me for saying so) you are a fool; unless you deal with that urgently.
I don’t know what is your own internal enemy because the elder have a saying: if the enemy within does not kill you, the enemy without cannot kill you.
What is your internal enemy?
Is it appetite like in the case of Esau?
Is it I must get money at all cost like in the case of Gehazi?
When the Bible says if God be for us who can be against us in Romans chapter 8 verse 31.
The Bible did not answer that question.
If God is for us, the devil cannot be against because we will resist the devil and the devil will flee.
If God is for us, demons cannot be against us because we are to cast out devil.
If God is for us, herbalist cannot be against us because no weapon formed against us that could prosper.
But if God is for us and we are against our self, then we have a problem.
Please stand on your feet, cry unto God and say: Father, do not let my inner man destroy my destiny.
Several years ago; that was long before I married; I had a girlfriend – beautiful, gentle (at least that was what I thought), always smiling – and I thought this is the one I will marry.
Then one day, one evening, around 8 O’clock I was going to her house, it was dark.
As I was approaching the house I was hearing a noise; as I look close I saw it was my girlfriend who was quarreling with someone and she was exploding like a volcano.
Hey!
Nobody saw me so I quickly backed off and in my mind I was saying God have mercy on the man who marries this girl.
Today she would have been my wife but she blew it because what was inside destroyed what was to be her destiny.
Please stand on your feet, cry unto God and say: Father, do not let my inner man destroy my destiny.
“Won a ni k’Olorun maje ki ori inu wa ba to de wa je” - God, do not let my inner man destroy my destiny.
Please stand on your feet, cry unto God and say: Father, do not let my inner man destroy my destiny.
Open your mouth and cry to Him, it is very important prayer.
Do not let me be my own enemy; do not let me be my own enemy. Do not let my inner man destroy my destiny please Lord; please Lord, please Lord do not let my inner man destroy my destiny; do not let me be my own enemy; do not let me be my own enemy; do not let me be my own enemy please, please Lord. I know You have great plans for my life but don’t let me destroy the plan myself; don’t let my inner destroy my destiny please. Please Lord, do not let my inner man destroy my destiny, help me, help me. Thank You Father. Thank You Father.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
So shall it be in Jesus’ name.
Please be seated.
And then sometime happened; Naaman was going away in a rage – that was what the Bible says; he was not just going gently, he was furious.
And if you know anything about the military, even when the General is not angry and you are subordinate and you want to speak you must ask for permission to speak.
Now, this man was in a rage but because of a very special love that God has for him, a servant risk is life and offered him advice.
When the King of kings minds to help you, nothing will stop him.
And I know there is someone for whom this was called today; someone God has made up His mind I AM going to help you and He will do everything to make sure you get the help.
I mean we have several examples we can use.
verse 1 to 8, Elijah was frustrated and he asked God to kill him.
God said, kill!
I AM not going to kill you; I will feed you because you must reach your goal.
Whatever method God want to use, somebody here will reach his goal.
In John chapter 21 verse 1 to 19, after God, after Jesus Himself had told Peter in (if we back off a little) verse 1to 11, God has told Peter that from now on you will not be fishing for fish, you will be fishing for men.
He forsook all; followed Jesus; Jesus died and he thought that was the end of the matter.
And he said, I am doing my fishing again; he went right back to what God said you will never do again after denying he knew Jesus three times.
But Jesus went after him and met him there and He makes sure he caught nothing that night again to remind of the beginning;
And helped him to catch fish and feed him; and said alright now Peter: do you love Me?
And He asked him three times so that He can confirm three times.
It was that song that says - Beloved that will not let me go.
There is a love of God that can hold you tight, no matter how you want to backslide that love will say no, you are not going.
May God extend that love to you tonight.
We held a meeting at the Headquarters, we were very few Pastors then and the man who brought me to Christ in that Pastors’ meeting lied against me before my General Superintendent and my father-in-the Lord believed him.
Everybody in the meeting turned against me.
What is this?
I left the meeting.
On my way to University of Lagos where I was working then and I got to St. Agnes bus stop, there was a traffic light there that stopped me.
As I stopped at the traffic, I was thinking within me: this Christianity! It is what they called the gospel!
I made up my mind.
If I cannot continue forward I can go to where I was coming from.
I made up my mind.
Suddenly God spoke.
He said, Son, what is the problem?
Daddy, You know all this, You were at the meeting.
Oh, so you have been disappointed by those you thought you could trust – the man who brought you to Jesus, you General Superintendent, everybody.
I said, yes.
He said, but have I disappointed you?
I said, no Lord.
I made up my mind from that day onward, no looking back.
I have already made up my mind, living or dying I belong to Jesus Christ.
Is there anybody like that here at all.
That is one story.
I will tell you another one because these are very serious prayer you are praying tonight.
I went to Obafemi Awolowo University, I think at that time it was still called University of Ife, for a programme.
I finished the programme early in the morning and I was coming back to Lagos.
And if you are coming out of the campus and you are coming back to Lagos, you are to turn right.
As I was approach the gate God spoke to me: at the junction you turn left.
Yes Lord.
I obeyed first and I asked why.
I told my driver we are turning left.
After we turned left, where are we going?
He said, you are going to Akure.
Akure!
I am on my way to Lagos but He is my Commander-in-chief, so I went to Akure.
And I got to Akure and then told me where I was going.
You are going to the house of so and so.
O God!
He knew why He did not tell me before.
Because the one He was sending me to had been in and out of the Redeemed Christian Church of God a couple times;
So, I made up my mind this time is gone, he is gone; no more follow-up.
So He sent me to his house.
I got to his house and he was in the bathroom.
The wife saw me, what are you doing here?
Well, God sent me to go and see your husband.
The wife told him, the G.O is in the sitting room.
He said, what kind of joke is that.
Finally, he came out and saw me.
Why are you here?
I say I don’t know.
God said, I should go and see you.
He opened his mouth; he could hardly close it because he has backslide terribly.
But he said, you mean God still remembered me! Sent you to come and see me!
He said from now on, all the way for Jesus Christ.
He is an elder now and he is seating on the altar here.
Stand on your feet, and lift your voice to the Almighty God and say: Father, don’t let me go, don’t let me go; please don’t let me go.
Don’t let me go; help me all the way, don’t let me go; don’t let me go, don’t let me go, help me all the way, help me all the way; please hold me tight even when everything within me turn away from You, Lord don’t let me go, hold me fast Lord; help me all the way, help me all the way; help me all the way Almighty, please help me all the way; hold fast unto me Lord; help me all the way, help me all the way, don’t let me go; don’t let me go Lord God Almighty no matter how I try to go away from You, don’t let me go, hold me fast; hold me fast. Please Lord, don’t let me go; don’t let me go hold me fast; hold me fast; please Lord help me all the way, all the way, all the way so that I can finish well, so that I can finish strong; help Lord, hold me fast; hold me fast; hold me fast Lord. Thank You Jesus. Thank You Father.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
So shall it be in Jesus’ name.
You will not fall by the way side; you will finish well.
Please be seated.
There are several others we could discuss but because of time let us go to one another important issue here and that is - the role of attention to details.
O thank You Almighty.
The role of attention to details: When God is talking to you, if your victory is going to be total and permanent, pay attention to details.
Thank You Father.
You know there is a saying that the rich also cry – that means you can be wealthy and still have sorrow but the Lord asked me to tell someone here, He said that proverb will never apply to you again.
Thank You Lord.
The Lord asks me to tell someone that you should pay attention and see, beginning from this month your adversary disappearing one by one.
The role of attention to details: When God is talking to you, if your victory is going to be total and permanent, pay attention to details.
Naaman was told - wash in Jordan; not any other river.
Wash seven times, not five, not six, not three but seven.
He deeped himself in Jordan the first time and he came out leper, second time a leper, sixth time he was still a leper; it was the seventh time that he came out clean.
that I mentioned earlier on ( verse 1 to 13), it says, if you hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, to observe and to do all He commands you - not some, not some – all
Diligent; pay attention to details
Like I told those of us who came for divine encounter, if you look at 2Kings chapter 4 verse 1 to 7, the man of God told the widow: go and borrow empty vessels from your neighbours, borrow not a few; shut the door on yourself and your sons; pour in the oil of your bottle into the pots; set aside that which is full.
Details!
If the widow had borrowed empty vessels and started pouring the oil without shutting the door the oil will not come.
Details! Details!
I pray that the Almighty God will help all of us who are Christians to pay attention to details.
Because many of us are doing things excepting God to respond in a particular way but we miss out on details.
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Jam
effective: successful in producing a desired or intended result .
fervent : Having or displaying a passionate intensity ., sincere, heartfelt, deeply felt , emotional .
We give our offerings but God says the offering must be given cheerfully. ( noticeably happy and optimistic)
God loves a cheerful giver.
If you give grudgingly, it is better you do not give at all because if you give grudgingly you will get no result.
He said bring all the tithes into my house – all - It is God who said that not one fellow.
Bring all the tithes into My house.
It is God who said put me first.
Details!
Details!
I am not trying to teach you Mathematics but I know that in a right angle triangle the square of the hypotenuse is equal to sum of the square of other two sides.
That will be difficult for the Yoruba interpreter.
But do you know that Law will not hold if the angle is a little more than ninety degrees or a little less.
Details!
When you want to deal with God, deal with Him all the way.
He is a God of details.
You want to serve Him, serve Him wholehearted.
He said, if you want to be cold, be cold; if you want to be hot, be hot;
He said, if you are lukewarm, He will spit you out of His mouth.
Details
In 2Kings chapter 13 verse 14 to 19, Elisha was about to die, a king came unto him and say haa, my father, my father, what am I going to do now?
You are the one defending this nation.
He said, that is no problem; take arrows, I will put my hand on your hand, shoot.
He shot.
He said, that is arrow of deliverance, you will get deliverance.
Then, he said, take the arrow and begin to smite the ground and this fellow smote the ground three times and stop.
He said, who asked you to stop?
Because you stopped at three then you will win three victories; he says you should have continue about five times or more; you should have waited for me to say stop.
And you know what that stupid king did?
He looked at him and say, my Father you are still alive; I stopped at three! Ehen, you want me to go to five; haa, I won’t even stop at five.
Details!
Because God is a God of details and He is watching everything you are doing.
The Bible says every hair on your head as a number written on it.
That is how detailed God is.
He is interested in you.
Follow Him all the way and He will see to it that your victory is not only absolute but permanent.
.
The total income of the Redeemed Christian Church of God at that time was less than my monthly salary as a lecturer.
By the time we pay all the people that had to be paid there was nothing left for the General Overseer to take.
But then I have been working for years before I retired and then the Government paid me my gratuity.
I say glory be to God.
Thank God.
Father, thank You for the gratuity.
So, I do I do it?
I thought He was going to say, pay your tithe and then maybe He will even ask me to put some in savings.
He said, divide it into three.
I said yes Lord.
I was wondering what was going to happen.
He said, one-third to this ministry.
I said yes Lord.
Give the second-third to this ministry.
My yes Lord became very very low; I was furiously praying that He will allow me to keep the remaining one-third.
And said, give the remaining one-third to this ministry.
Haa!
But then He spoke and said, Son, I will be your source.
Do what He says; you will never never be defeated.
Do what He says.
Some people see the glory, they do not know the story.
I am telling you, He is God of details.
Stand on your feet and lift your voice to Him and say: Father, the grace to obey You completely give to me today.
Open your mouth and cry unto Him.
The grace to obey You completely, to obey You in details, not casually, to obey You all the way, give me that grace; that is the secret of absolute and permanent victory, obey Him completely. Thank You my Father. Give me the grace to obey You, to obey You completely, to obey You absolutely, to obey You in detail, give me the grace, give me the grace, give me the grace to obey You completely, to obey You absolutely. Thank You Father.
That is a serious prayer; you should pray it because it will determine your future.
The grace to obey You completely, absolutely, to do exactly what You want me to do, the grace to follow through completely with Your instructions; give me that grace so that from today onward I will obey You completely, I will obey You absolutely, I will obey You all the way, give me the grace Lord, give me the grace. Thank You my Father. Glory be to God.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
And so shall it be in Jesus’ name.
Please be seated.
Finally, just one more point, there could be other we will discuss in future.
What do I do so that my victory will remain permanent forever?
I just want to add one more point from the life of Naaman.
I just want to add one more point from the life of Naaman.
After he received his miracle, his victory, he came back to say thank you.
He returned to Elisha – you can read that one in the same 2Kings chapter 5 from verse 15 to 19.
He said, Sir, I am clean.
The man of God said congratulations.
Haa, please Sir, this is money, cloths, this, that – he came back to say thank you.
Like I told those who came for Divine Encounter, the reason many of us has never had more than one breakthrough is because we have never come back to testify.
We do not come back to say this is what God did; thank You Lord.
We won’t tell others what God did for us.
Many of us cannot even open our mouth to say thank You to God; we do not come back to testify.
Wo ni t’Omode ba dupe ore ana, (kilo ma se le?) agba imiran (If a child is grateful for you done for him yesterday, he will receive another)
The same elders…
(Forgive me tonight if you find me going to my mother tongue again and again; it is because the issue tonight is very serious)
…they say in Yoruba: eni ta se lore ti ko dupe, bi gba ti olosa koni leru lo ni (the one who is ungrateful is like an armed robber.)
That is what they said.
If that is to be true, I regret to say there are many armed robbers among Christians.
Many of us cannot even open our mouth to say thank You to God; we do not come back to testify.
He has healed more people that are easy to believe in our midst.
When it is testimony time we want to hear the testimonies of others.
He has destroyed the yoke of bondage in the life of many of us, we won’t talk.
Somebody said I am shy.
Eh en, you are not shy when you had a problem.
The widow that the creditors were coming to, in 2Kings chapter 4 verse 1 to 7, after the miracle of multiplication she came back to Elisha to thank him – this is what happened – she testify.
The mad man of Gadarene in Mark chapter 5 you will read it from verse 1 to 20.
After God drove away the demons he came to meet Jesus and said thank God I am free now, I will go with You everywhere you go.
The Lord said, eh en, go and tell others.
This fellow Bartimaeus: as soon as God opened his eyes, the Bible says he come and followed Jesus in the way; he did not run away with the miracle.
In Mark chapter 1 verse 40 to 45, when Jesus cleansed that leper, he told the leper: do not tell anyone.
The Leper laughed.
How can I keep quiet?
I was leper now I am clean, I will tell everybody.
Haa, so and so, you came too?
That one said yes.
You came today?
He said no, I have been coming.
He said, since when?
He said, since four years ago.
And you call yourself my friend!
You are wicked fellow.
Many of us here we got born again because somebody witness to us, somebody told us about Jesus Christ and since then we have not told anyone.
How does the devil get his disciples?
It is through the witness of his converts.
It is the neighbour who will say, when next are you going to him?
You have the Almighty God; you know Him; you know His powers; you know how He can go; you know with Him nothing shall be impossible, but you keep quiet.
You cannot even say thank You.
Thank You Father.
Because Daddy says there is someone here tonight, very soon I will fulfill verse 5 for you.
Would you please speak to him so that he will give me a job?
I say, no problem; I don’t know the woman.
So, I spoke to the president and she was appointed a minister.
Four years passed, another election took place; the president was re-elected.
And the woman came again.
Hey, last time you spoke for me I got the post of a minister.
I said, yes Ma.
Please speak for me again.
I said, four years ago, since four years ago this is first time I am seeing you.
For years ago, you did not even come back to say thank you to God.
Four year passed, you did not even send me a Christmas card to say I know that you are still alive o, Merry Christmas.
I don’t need your money, I am not hungry but can’t you even say thank you to God.
Haa, this time around, every Christmas your card will be beautiful.
I said, I have more cards than I can handle – I am teaching a principle.
He came back to say thank you.
Let me round up with this story and then we are going to pray final prayer.
Thank You Daddy.
Forgive me, I got carried away.
Who is that fellow?
Because the Lord asked me to tell someone that this time around your joyful expectation shall not fail.
Thank God I have been speaking all along; I have been waiting for my own and finally I got my own now.
So I want to say amen to it before I tell you.
Because Daddy says there is someone here tonight, very soon I will fulfill verse 5 for you.
For those of you who don’t know verse 5, it says: thou prepareth a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
If you are the one let me hear you shout hallelujah.
I went to conduct Bible Study; I think it was in Ikoyi, in the house of one very big man who happened to be my friend.
And there was this young man there; I don’t know how he managed to get there because it was for big people.
He is very small boy, he had only, I think he had only eleven Petrol Stations - Very small boy
When I finished preaching that night he came to me and says I have never heard that kind of preaching before and he gave me a gift – ten thousand dollars.
He is a small boy – you know small is by comparison.
So I took the money and I say God bless you, next time will be more.
He left the place saying what kind of greedy pastor is this; I gave him this money and he was saying next will be more.
The following year I was back in the same place and he came back to testify.
He said, when you said next time will be more last year, I was almost angry.
But now, between last year and now, by the grace of God the number of my petrol station had increase to hundred and ten.
Then he said thank you again.
I know you want to know what he did this time, I won’t tell you; it is none of your business.
And I said to him, next time will be more.
Why?
Because he testified
All of sudden, God began to open works for him Abroad and he began to buy petrol stations in UK.
I mean, I don’t want to go to all the details.
Learn to say thank you.
Learn to appreciate God.
Thank Him for what He had already done in the past that is when He will do more.
Thank Him for the victory you have already obtained that is why He will make the victory permanent.
Stand on your feet: In the next ten minutes or so, do nothing other than thank God, thank God; thank Him, bless His holy name. Thank Him for what He has done for you; thank Him.
Open your mouth and praise Him.
Give Him glory for what He has done in the past; thank Him, He has done a lot for you, thank Him.
In Jesus mighty name we have given thanks.
May the Almighty God accept your thanks given; may He give you greater things to thank Him about.
Now that you have thanked Him, for the next two/three or four minutes, in every area that you that you are still fighting a battle, talk to God. Say: Father, I must have total victory; I must have total victory tonight.
Talk to Him.
Whether it is in physical area, in the material area, is in the marital area, is in the spiritual area, is in your career - talk to God now – say Lord I have must have complete victory tonight; all round victory; victory in my body, victory in my home, victory in my office, victory in my ministry, victory financially, victory all round, Lord I cry to you tonight, give me victory – total, absolute, complete and permanent. Give me total victory tonight Lord; give me total victory tonight; victory total, victory complete, absolute, in every area of my life, please give me total victory, give me total victory. Thank You Jesus. Total victory tonight that is what I am asking you for; in every area of my life victory physical, victory material, victory marital, victory academic, victory ministerial, victory spiritual, give me total victory O Lord, absolute, complete and permanent. Thank You Jesus. O Lord, give me absolute victory, complete victory, all round victory, please give me victory tonight. Thank You Jesus.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
God of Host I commit all these Your children into Your hands, before the sun rises Lord, let every one of us sing the song triumph. In every area of our lives my Father and my God, let us sing the song of triumph in such a manner that by the time we wake up tomorrow morning we will think that are we dreaming. Father, let us have total and absolute triumph. Thank You my Father.
In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Amen.
If you receive that let me hear your amen loud and clear.
