A Call to discernment
Some people are complacent/content to remain ignorant of the truths God reveals to us in his word
Satan wants you to be content in your ignorance because:
He disguises himself as an angel of light
He can perform miracles and signs
God does not want you to remain ignorant because:
An ignorant Christian is a weak Christian
An ignorant Christian is a dangerous/destructive Christian - the syncretism is dangerous and destructive to themselves and to everyone they influence.
An ignorant Christian will never be transformed/ conformed to the image/character of Christ to the extent that God intends.
A Spiritual Work- The Spirit of God, not Paganism
The Spirit of God (not flesh and blood/natural intuition or intellect) - illuminates, regenerates, reveals that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God, saves the soul from the wrath of God.
The Spirit of God, not paganism - supernaturally expresses himself through believer’s and empowers us with Spiritual Gifts to demonstrate the power of the gospel, to pursue kingdom living “for the common good”
A Biblical Church Growth Strategy
Eph 4:15-16
Same Spirit
1 Cor 12:
“Same Spirit....Same Lord…Same God” - reference to the trinity.
Reiterated in verse 11
The Nature of the Gifts
