Deuteronomy 30:11–20 NLT

11 “This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. 12 It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ 13 It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’ 14 No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it. 15 “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. 16 For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. 17 “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, 18 then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy. 19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Activating The Key to My Life

When you have a moment, sit down and write your obituary.

And if you died today what major impact have you contributed to the kingdom enlarging?

What have you’ve done with you Life? Have you utilized your Key?

While away for my father in-laws funeral we stayed at a hotel that issued a credit card type key.

I mistakenly placed this key next to my credit cards and it de-activated my card. I no longer had access to enter a place i had already paid for.

And to top it all off i dropped my wallet in the lobby while trying to enter the locked door with my de-activated key.

was locked out and lost all my other credentials and didn’t even realize it....

Personally Speaking i feel like Deuteronomy is a pastoral book instructing the flock on what to do and what not to do.

The many words used in this book of 34 chapters seem to flow in the same patterned Word Commandment:

Christ’s commandment for Christians to love each other. The phrase “new commandment” occurs four times in the NT, all in the writings of John (Jn 13:34; 1 Jn 2:7, 8; 2 Jn 5). Initially it was a command given by Jesus to his disciples on the night of his arrest: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another”

So When we look at this text 30:11

This Commandment Which I command you this day: Moses is reintroducing the laws & teachings that was given that day (So translators may express this as these commandments rather than this commandment.)

Moses tells the people

They are not too hard for you: not difficult to obey.

Neither is it far Off: not hard to understand, not beyond your reach..

Not in Heaven: not beyond normal human capacity to acquire and understand.

Not Beyond The Sea

Is Very Near you: that is, it is accessible, it is understandable

In Your Mouth : that is, in the language you understand and speak; so you may quote them

In Your Heart: you already know it.. “if You Know it and can quote it”

So that you can do it: (NIKE) so now Obey it !!! Just do it!!! JustLive it

Moses tells them Choose Life..

In other words Living without God isn’t really living.

20th verse

You Can make the choice

Loving the Lord Your God…

John 14:15 NKJV
