How Should a Christian Behave
How Should a Christian Behave? Col 3:1-17
OS: April 17, 1964 something unique and noteworthy took place in America… That event was the introduction of the Ford Mustang. On that day the following events took place:
1. A Mustang had been chosen as the pace car for a stock car race in Huntsville, Alabama. When it drove onto the track, thousands of people scaled the retaining wall to get a better look at it and the race was delayed for over an hour.
2. A cement truck crashed through the plate-glass window of a Seattle Ford dealer when the driver lost control of his vehicle. The reason: He was staring at the new Mustangs on display there.
3. A Chicago Ford dealer was forced to lock the doors of his show-room models because too many people were trying to get into them at the same time.
4. A Texas dealer put a new Mustang on a lift to show a prospective customer the underside of the vehicle. By the time his demonstration was over, the showroom was filled with people, and he had to leave the Mustang up in the air for the rest of the day.
5. A New Jersey Ford dealer had only one Mustang and 15 eager buyers, so he auctioned it off. The winner of the auction insisted on sleeping in the car to be sure the dealer didn’t sell it to someone else before his check cleared.
Why did they do all this? Why did people behave in such bizarre ways over a simple car? I mean they... They did all of this because of a Ford mustang!
BUT it was THE car they wanted to see. It was THE car they wanted to have. It stood for everything they ever wanted in a vehicle

False teachers had arrived among the Colossian church and they were placing some tantalizing things before these Christians. Paul has been saying – no! Jesus is all you need. Seek Him with all your heart!
TS] Jesus has some hand me downs for you to put on.
Text: 3:1-17
I. Get rid of the old – throw it away. Don’t make a list and focus on it!
II. Put on the new – don’t forget to fix your minds on what is above. Don’t make a list and focus on it! (Jn 15 – I am the vine and you are the branches, remain in me and bear much fruit)
III. Do this together! (Support one another) morning series
In an old Candid Camera episode, an actor is on a busy sidewalk and begins looking at the ground. He walks around a bit and continues to look down. People are passing by him and a few give him strange looks. After a couple minutes, he decides to get down on his hands and knees and begins feeling around with his hands. People begin to slow down and watch what he’s doing. Finally, one person stops and starts looking at the ground. Then another one begins searching the sidewalk.
In a few minutes, the camera shows about a dozen people looking down, some even on their hands and knees! At that point, the actor, who got all this started in the first place, quietly gets up and walks away. No one else notices that he has left. They’re so intent in their search that they never even bothered to ask what it was they were looking for.
This is a good picture of how many people live in our society today. They’re searching for something because they know there’s got to be more to life. But, they’ll never find it if they don’t know what it is that they’re missing.
