Introduction
Announcements
Sunday School begins next week!
- People of the promised land
Welcome the incoming 6th graders!
Baggies to pass out
Ice Breaker
split class into boy-girl
split up into groups—make sure each group has at least one new member in it
Never Have I Ever
For this introduction game, have the youth sit in a circle.
Each player takes turns standing up and saying something that they have never done.
They begin by saying, “Never have I ever…” Each person holds up all ten fingers and if the teen has done what the person standing says he or she hasn’t done, they have to put down one finger.
The goal is to keep your fingers up and the last person to have a finger up wins.

Teaching
A little about myself
-White guy
-Christian family, don’t think I was saved, made decisions that only hurt me but thought it was cool and felt good.
-Jesus rescued me
-My passion is for the Church
-You will get what you put into this group
-6th graders: invitation to have your burdens carried by us, and train you to carry our burdens
-Burden carriers, those who’ve made this your home: come alongside those who are new.
They are your family.
().
My goal:
I hated Youth Group when I was your age
This is the place you look forward to coming all week, to be refreshed in Christ
These are the people you love to spend time with all week, to be encouraged in Christ
This is where you are taught to share the Gospel, and to invite others to know Christ
Pray for Newbies (maybe have groups pray for upcoming year and brotherly love)
