1. In verse 5, Paul states that, *"the gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit with full conviction"*
What is the power of God, and how do you see the power of God? (Verse 5 / Conviction; Verse 7 / In adversity)
2. One of the things Scott stated after reading Verse 6 is that, “We must always make sure that we never make other people’s experience our doctrine.”
Why is this something that we should be mindful of? (Pragmatism, humanism, diminishing of the Word of God, reduces the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to a formula rather then a relationship, exalted view of man)

In the book “Spirituality of Fundraising” - Henri Nouwen states that the reason that it is difficult to talk about money is because even as Christians many times we serve two masters, God and Money () , rather then to look at Christ as preeminent in all things. Those places that the power of the Holy Spirit is not working is generally filled with fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, rather then Hope and Joy.
