A Dear Friend

When was the last time you became passionate about who God is? Are there times that you are amazed by the fact that God is within you?

I remember studying about the Holy Spirit when I was about fifteen or sixteen years old. I came home that evening and I was troubled. Since I had been a little girl I was told that Jesus lived in my heart. But if the Holy Spirit was the person of God who was inside me did that mean that I didn’t know Jesus like I thought? I didn’t know much about the Holy Spirit and He felt like a stranger. So I struggled that night. Then God spoke to me and I realized -- everything I know about God the Father and God the Son, I learned through God the Spirit. Instead of a stranger, I suddenly knew that the Holy Spirit was a dear friend who I had known for many years. Wow. God is within me. What a mystery!
