When God Seems Inattentive
There are times when we pray and it doesn't seem like God is listening. We hear stories where things work out for others. Often times people who are not faithful are blessed while others who are faithful do not receive a simular blessing. We may be wondering, "Why do we pray?" Just because God is silent doesn't meant God is absent. You don't have to understand the plan to trust God's purpose. God's purpose will be fulled but it may not come the way we would plan in our own heart. We cannot interpret God's goodness through our circumstances. We interpret our circumstances through the goodness of God.
Focus Scripture
2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

Why Do We Pray?
14 And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.
