I’m About To Get It Back

Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?”
And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”
Introduction
Big Idea
Background
Samuel the Prophet is dead. (Chapter 25)David has found himself at odds with Saul the former King and he's now on the run (Chapter 26)He has retreated to the enemies camp to take refuge. (Chapter 27)He wages war and destroys the Amalekites (Chapter 27)David begins to march with the Philistines but is rejected. When they return to Ziglag they find that the enemy has come and taken revenge. Burning the city and taken their families into bondage. So now the same place that they thought would be a place of well-being is now a place of war.  There place of peace now they encounter a problem What they thought was a place of victory is now a valley.  Transition: So what do you do when it appears that you've lost it all? You've cried all you could. Then David and the people who were with him lifted their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep. (NASB)
What do you do when it looks like the enemy has won?
Marriage, Health, Children, FinancesBut David found strength in the Lord his God. (He encouraged himself in the Lord.)We've been crying to long but I need some people to declare everything that the enemy has taken. "I'm about to get it back!"
Sermonic Points
Refocused
Then he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring me the ephod!” So Abiathar brought it. 8 Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” -8aThe Prophet Samuel is dead and so now the presence of God's voice is absent.David finds himself following his logic instead of the leading of the Lord. Many of us have found ourselves in this place instead of doing what the Lord says we do what looks right and feels right. (Give examples)We've been doing what looks right and feels right instead of what is rightWe left our community and family vulnerable to the enemies attack. Because we are out of place. How do you refocus? We have to get away from people. Get in His presence, and pray.
Relentless
9 So David and his 600 men set out, and they came to the brook Besor. 10 But 200 of the men were too exhausted to cross the brook, so David continued the pursuit with 400 men. -10David and his men are now seeking revenge. 600 men set out to fight the enemy but they came to a place where everybody wouldn't go. You have to make up in your mind that now matter who doesn't go with me I'm gonna be relentless.Relentless: Uncompromising, Unyielding, Determined, (continuing without becoming weaker.) I wish I had some people that would turn their cry of despair into a cry that declares war. (Over/Overcomer, Finished/Still Fighting, Consumed/Conquerer)Now matter how many who started with you cant be found you've got to go forward.
Recover
18 David got back everything the Amalekites had taken, and he rescued his two wives. 19 Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken. David brought everything back.
