Mark 3:1 ESV
1 Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand.
Dried up wasted away injured and diseased
Hands that are unable to work and serve God hands that were withered were unable to work for a livelihood
Mark 3:2 ESV
2 And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him.
We are in bad shape when our primary goal is to point out flaws rather than point people to God.
Isaiah 1:13 ESV
13 Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination to me. New moon and Sabbath and the calling of convocations— I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly.
is 1
Isaiah 58:6 ESV
6 “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
:

7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
Isaiah 58:8 ESV
8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Is 58:7
Isaiah 58:9 ESV
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

10 if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

Isaiah 58:13 ESV
13 “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;
Isaiah 58:14 ESV
14 then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Mark 3:3 ESV
3 And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.”
Literally means to Rise Up, Stand up in the mist
If there is an area in your life that is Dried up, injured or diseased go to Jesus
Mark 3:4 ESV
4 And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
Mark 3:5 ESV
5 And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
Use your anger as fuel and find a way to build up not as fuel to continue to be self serving
Stretch out on the Word
Anger of unbelief and rejection
Angry for their uncaring attitudes
Anger of unbelief and rejection
We should check ourselves to see if we have these strong feelings when it comes to sin and evil
Our end goal should be restoring people to wholeness and fulfillment
Mark 3:6 ESV
6 The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.
The Herodians were an irreligious and political group that supported the Dynasty of Herod the great by extension Rome.
These two groups count be more different
The Pharisees hated Jesus because He threatened their system the Herodians hated Jesus because He threatened their power
Mark 3:7 ESV
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea
The religious and political leaders were trying to kill Him, His hour had not come yet.
Mark 3:8 ESV
8 and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him.
