89 LAMED.
For ever, O Lord,
Thy word is settled in heaven.
The permanence of God’s word gives us something solid on which we rest our faith. The passage reminds us that God’s word is settled in heaven, it is settled on earth, and it can be settled in our hearts and souls.
Psalm 119:89
89 Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.
God’s word never changes: Elab the gospel, SIN. But the way do things in the church has changed. Music has changed, youth ministry has changed, even the way churches look has changed. But some people have a problem with change.
A lot of things change. But God word remains firm.
25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Warren Wiersbe: “To younger people, change is a treat, to older folks change is a threat. We like to relax in our comfort zone and resit the dramatic changes going on around us. But if we do, we fail to grow spiritually, and we miss the opportunities God gives us to reach others with the gospel”
Since God’s word is settled, it is permanent, that means God dose not change.

160 Thy word is true from the beginning:
And every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Psalm 119:
Matthew
90 Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations;
You established the earth, and it stands.
89 LAMED.
For ever, O Lord,
Thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
Settled: Established, preserved, hold firmly. On earth you can be certain of change, there is no absolute here on earth.
But in heaven, God, God’s word will never change.
many people have attempted to discredit God and God’s word.
“And God said”
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

4 For a thousand years in thy sight
Are but as yesterday when it is past,
And as a watch in the night.
People change, but God is eternal.

Since He is God, we can commit ourselves to me.
We can have confidence in Him and His word.
It is not Mother nature, it is God.
91 They continue this day according to thine ordinances:
For all are thy servants.
The rising of the sun. Day by day speaks of His faithfulness. He cares for us.
Psalm 119:91
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament sheweth his handywork.
God not only made all, He controls all.
There is power in His word.
*When Jonah ran away, God spoke and summoned a great fish.
*When the wind blew, God spoke and the winds were peaceful.
*When Peter disobeyed, God spoke and a rooster was order to crow.
92 Unless thy law had been my delights,
I should then have perished in mine affliction.
Psalm 119:9
This teaches us that the writer found sense meaning from the law (word) that caused him to align his life with the will of God.
He had experienced affliction, if not for God’s word he would have perished in his affliction.
We have God’s word. We can not escape the realities of life, but it is here to strengthen us in whatever we face.
93 I will never forget thy precepts:
For with them thou hast quickened me.
Psalm 119:
93 I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have given me life.
Personal experiences makes it more difficult to forget.
We can be taught is, read it, and think you have it. But until you experience it you don;t know it.
“precepts” Law.
Doesn't say that God’s precepts “quickened”
Quickened: revived. But is was God himself who do so.
quickened
Psalm 119:
94 I am thine, save me;
For I have sought thy precepts.
“I am thine” “I am yours”
The writer knows he belongs to God. So, he prays that the Lord may continue his life (save me) He belonged to God and he knows Gods cares.
He sought out God’s help. God’s help (grace) is unconditional.

95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me:
But I will consider thy testimonies.
Despite the persecution, he vows “I will consider your testimonies”
Gods word was a safeguard for him.
It gave him a broader view, a wide horizon, and a sense of purpose.
Psalm 119:
96 I have seen an end of all perfection:
But thy commandment is exceeding broad.
96 I have seen a limit to all perfection;
Your commandment is exceedingly broad.
Psalm 119:
Things are limited, people and their wisdom are limited.
But God is not limited. He is limitless.
