Effective witnessing involves TRUSTING God in what He has already done to DRAW others to Himself.

Witnessing involves FISHING and TREASURE hunting. Explain how so.

Evangelism without PRAYER is presumption!

We must always pray first to God for those who are upon our hearts and minds.

To engage in a evangelistic conversation, we must use TACTICS.

The goal of the tactical approach is to stay in CONTROL of the conversation without being pushy, obnoxious, loud, or condescending. We must be gracious and receptively caring.

Also, by using tactics you don’t have to be CLEVER or KNOWLEDGEABLE.

We have learned the COLUMBO method. We learned two elements with each launched with a different question.

We gather information by asking, WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?

We shift the BURDEN OF PROOF by asking, HOW DID YOU COME TO THAT CONCLUSION?

If given the opportunity to share the gospel, one may use a simple technique known as the HAND PRESENTATION of the gospel.

Thumb — Heaven or a hitchhiker seeking a free ride — GRACE

Heaven is a FREE GIFT

Eternal life is not EARNED or DESERVED.

The Index Finger — points to our sin — MAN

Man is a SINNER.

The LAW of God declares mankind as sinners.

Man can’t SAVE himself.

The Great Finger — greatest Being in the universe — GOD

God is MERCIFUL and He doesn’t delight in punishing us. ;

God is JUST and He must punish our sins.

The Ring Finger — Bridegroom — JESUS CHRIST

Jesus is both GOD and MAN. ,

He DIED on the cross.

and He ROSE from the dead

to PAY the penalty for our sins

and He PURCHASED eternal life for us.

Jesus is KING and LORD.

The Little Finger — faith of a mustard seed — FAITH

Faith is not just HEAD KNOWLEDGE.

Nor is it just TEMPORARY FAITH.

True saving faith is TRUSTING in JESUS CHRIST ALONE for our eternal life.
