6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day.
9 David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10 So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.
12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. 14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. 17 So they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. 18 And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. 19 Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.
20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”
21 So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. 22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”
23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
2 Sam 6:
Today I’m going to Activate An Undignified Praise...
This Story Is a Continuation Of The Legacy Of The Ark Of Covenant that was built Under Moses leadership.
This Ark is a Representation of the presence of God for the Children of Isreal. But it required everyone to reverence and respect it..
Handling the Ark Wrong resulted in Death, Handling it Correctly resulted in victory over enemies and blessing and favor..
So in this story line, David in his early reign wanted to bring the Ark to the Capital where it rightfully belonged.
But unfortunately David is dealing with legacy of people handling holy things wrong which caused death.
And So David starts out wrong himself by placing the Ark on a beast.
3 So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.
2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, who dwells between the cherubim.
2 sam 6
15 And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
“These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.
The Reason why many things have spiritually and naturally died in the kingdom is because people still try to handle Holy things wrong.
12 There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.
So Abinadad drove the Ark on a new cart on a beast, and the Ox stumbled
Uzzah in his ignorance put out his hand and took hold of the Ark
The Lord was angry & struck him dead
David became angry and did what everyone else did, he left the Ark.
2. The Ark Was dropped off to Obed-Edom the gittite’s house
Obed-Edom wasn’t a Jew but he knew how handle Holy… Ask somebody can you handle holy??
Romans 2:11
11 For God does not show favoritism.
12 When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. 13 For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight.
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Romans 2:12
For 3 months the Ark sat in his house.
11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.
When David found out his blessing was working in someone else house he had do something about that..
It doesn’t make sense to be mad at me because I honor the Ark and you don’t....
David wasn’t a hater he was a celebrator
12 Then King David was told, “The Lord has blessed Obed-edom’s household and everything he has because of the Ark of God.” So David went there and brought the Ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the City of David with a great celebration.
David began praising God without any manifested blessing
Every six steps they took they stopped to bless God.
David made sacrifices unto God
14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.
2 Sam
David the leader of Isreal, The King, The General is also the Lead worshipper..
David danced, & David shouted with Joy.
David dance got so good he danced out his clothes, all he had on was his linen ephod the priest wore
Final Point
David returns home to find his wife Michal was watching the praise party from her window.
She felt David looked foolish and she felt embarrassed because her father never did that before..
Keep an eye out for the folks that are uncomfortable with your praise & worship..
Keep an eye out for the folks that make you uncomfortable with your praise & worship
See David had been worshipping God for such a long time he couldn’t even let his family interfere..
2 samuel 6:21

He was willing to appear foolish & undignified..
What about you, i see your cute little praise, you cool sway to the left and right..
But lets be honest...
You got a much better praise than that...
david had to take his Kingly garments off
What will you need to strip off to activate your praise....
See What many of us haven’t figured out yet is Praise Is A Weapon
Some of us need to move our seats, because your 9 month neighbor has shown you how far their praise is going to go...
1 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous:
For praise is comely for the upright.
“Praise” comes from a Latin word meaning “value” or “price.” Thus, to give praise to God is to proclaim His merit or worth. Many terms are used to express this in the Bible, including “glory,” “blessing,” “thanksgiving,” and “hallelujah,” the last named being a transliteration of the Hebrew for “Praise the Lord.
A Psalm Of David.
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
18 To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
19 The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
22 Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
