A Quick Recap:

The Holy Spirit is THE gift
He brings and gives & powers 9 gifts for us to impact the world with
The 9 gifts of the Spirit can be categorized into 3 Groups
3 Gifts that “See Something”
3 Gifts that “Say Something”
3 Gifts that “Do Something”
Your character will always be more important than your giftedness
The Holy Spirit is the Lord over and administrator of ALL of His gifts
Every gift requires, and is “powered” by Faith
1 Corinthians 12:7–11 NKJV
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
1cor12:7-
1 Corinthians 12:7–11 NKJV
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
1cor
1 Corinthians 12:7 KJV 1900
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
The Gifts That “Say Something”:
Prophecy
Different (Diverse) Kinds of Tongues
Interpretation of Tongues

Definition: a discourse emanating from divine inspiration and declaring the purposes of God, whether by reproving and admonishing the wicked, or comforting the afflicted, or revealing things hidden; esp. by foretelling future events
1 Peter 4:11 NKJV
If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1Pet4:11
1 Corinthians 14:3 NKJV
But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
Revelation 19:12 KJV 1900
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Revelation 19:10 NKJV
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
2 Peter 1:20 NKJV
knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
Hebrews 1:1–2 NKJV
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
John 1:1 NKJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
john1:1
John 1:14 NKJV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Romans 12:6 NKJV
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

Bullet Points on Prophecy:

Prophecy by believers should do 1 or more of these: Edification, Exhortation, and/or Comfort
Prophecy should primarily come from and be confirmed by the Bible.
The Word of Wisdom & Word of Knowledge are often exceptions
You can grow your prophetic declarations by growing on your faith
We prophesy out of God’s Spirit, not our intuition or perception

Diverse Kinds of Tongues:

This is the Gift of Tongues and it is not to be confused with the Sign of tongues (Mark16:17&18) or tongues as an individual Prayer Language (1 Corinthians 14:2)
This gift is usually paired with another gift called The Interpretation of Tongues, but may not always seem like it & can be a known language or a Heavenly language
1 Corinthians 14:27 NKJV
If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret.
Acts 2:4–11 NKJV
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”
Story of David Hogan preaching in tongues because he didn’t know the language.

Bullet points on Diverse Kinds of Tongues:

It is a very unique gift that we don’t see used very often currently, but it is equal with all the other Gifts of the Spirit
The gift of tongues should always have some way of being interpreted
When Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues work together, they edify the hearers much like prophecy.

Interpretation of Tongues:

This gift is usually paired with another gift - Diverse Kinds of Tongues - and it allows the hearer to understand what is being said.
1 Corinthians 14:13 NKJV
Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.
Without interpretation, tongues doesn’t mean anything to anyone other than God Himself
Tongues + Interpretation of Tongues = Prophecy
1 Corinthians 14:2 NKJV
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
1 Corinthians 14:14 NKJV
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
1cor14.14
The co-working of these gifts together can be a sign or a wonder to someone that is not certain that God is real. It is not NATURAL, but it is NORMAL.
