Key Verses

where did it come from?
why do I believe this
what effect does this thought have on me
Philippians 4:8 NKJV
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Identify the Lies

Where did it come from?
Why do I believe it?
What effect does it have on me?
Don’t you hate it when you are lied to?
Well the Devil is a Liar!
Lies will mislead and destroy you
What is a lie?
Romans 8:5–6 NKJV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
A lie always presents it’s self as truth
Your life depends on what you set your mind on. So what are setting are you allowing your mind to dictate in your life?
A lie might sound good, it might make sense, but has no life and is empty
The best way to defeat a lie is to receive the truth.
John 8:44 NKJV
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Lies always breed death!
Lies never agree with the Truth!
Lies create their own realities!
The purpose of a lie is to keep you from receiving the Truth!
John 10:10 NKJV
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 8:32 NKJV
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Ask God to expose the Lies

Psalm 26:2 NKJV
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Some of the lies are so deep in us that we don’t see them. We need God’s help!
The Spirit of Truth in us wants to lead us into the truth. All we have to do is ask and listen.
ask questions like,
Jesus show me the truth about this thought that is hurting me!
Jesus show me the truth about this thought!
The bible tells us to bring captive every thought!
2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Every lie has its argument.
Every lie exalts itself! its puffed up and proud.
Every lie tries to make the truth of God foolishness!
We are called to bring these lies into submission to the truth of God!
How do we do this?

Renounce the Lies!

Take up the Truth!

Jeremiah 12:2 NKJV
You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.
Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV
I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.
Matthew 16:23 NKJV
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Matthew 26:
Speak it! confess with your lips the truth! Repeat it! you received the truth because it was repeated to you over and over again, until it became familiar to you. Now its time to renounce it and repeat the truth because you believe the truth over the lie! Train you mind! condition it to the truth!

Respond to the Truth

Romans 8:5–6 NKJV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Today is the day to start over and renew your mind!
Philippians 4:8 NKJV
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
