What is the mission field like?

Hallo everyone! My name is Aaron Lee and I am your missionary to Chiang Mai. This is my wife Cherilyn and my 3 year old Daughter Alaryse. We have been in Thailand for about 3 years. I spent 1 year in Bangkok and after that I moved to Chiang Mai to lead the Church there.
The question that i get asked the most is why did you decide to go and how is the mission field really like?
I think the reason why I decided to answer the call of God is because, God has put a burden and a passion in my heart.
You see, I was never known as a bright kid. i didn’t do well in school and I generally felt that I did not do well in life. I had low self esteem. I had no idea how my future would turn out. Before I knew God my life was headed to destruction. I was a very negative person. I had no hope in life and I was depressed. My favourite album was melon collie and the infinite sadness by the smashing pumpkins. Don’t think you guys would know this band but it was my favourite band at that time. It was a gloriously depressing album to me. I was an emo kid at times having suicidal thoughts.
But when I came to know God in the year 2000 at 20 years old, my life change and it turned 180 degrees. God told me he has a plan and a destiny for me. God loves me. To me when I received this message into my heart it gave me hope and a sense of destiny for my life. From then on I began to ask god to show me his plans for me. I did not do very well in school earlier on in my life.
God qualifies us to serve him through his deep work in our lives.
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Ephesians 6:12 ESV
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
