Zeal
Zeal
There was once a man who from a young age wanted to be a very Godly person. This person grew up and got the very best teachers to teach him about God and Gods ways. He became a very religious man, and did not tolerate any misbehavior in himself or others. He did not allow other people to do or say any bad things against God, in fact he was so strict to his religion that he got permission from his superiors to beat up ,throw in jail, or even kill people who dint worship God the same way that he was taught.
This man just got done terrorizing people around where he lived, then he got permission to go to another town. So he and his little army was on their way to this other town to beat up a jail anybody who dint worship the same way he did and al of a sudden a very bright light from the sky lit up, a light so bright that it blinded him and the a voice said SAUL, Saul…
Zeal This desire is so strong, when it really reigns in a person, that it impels them to make any sacrifice-to go through any trouble-to deny themselves anything-to suffer, to work, to labor, to toil, to spend themselves and be spent, and even to die-if only they can please God and honor Christ. J.C. Ryle

Vowed a Vow unto the Lord
Zeal to do the right thing/
When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
Is making a vow wrong?
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
V 31 the vow - kill someone from his home if God...
What zeal! Willing to give up a family member
Zeal without Knowledge
Zeal without Knowledge
For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
He had a zeal for what God wanted
he brought in the practice of the false god worship
For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
if he had Known God he would never had made the vow
if he had Known God he would never had made the vow
God detests the Killing ofChildren
Thought -had to sacrifice something valuable to please
There was a group of Christians in the Philippines who wanted to build a new church building. they found and bought some land and started clearing the land started putting in the foundation. then then decided to have a dedication ceremony to dedicate the new church to God. so they brought up all the people and some others from surrounding churches to join in the happy occasion. the worship service started, there was singing and prayer, some speeches, more singing more prayer. then they brought out a couple of gunny sacks, and from the sacks they pulled some chickens. they cut the heads off the chickens and spread the chicken blood all over the the land to keep the evil spirits away.

the chickens were from their old religion
they were bringing elements of satanic worship into the asking of the blessing from God

vow made -- God said must fulfill
but what if the vow is un-Godly?
What could be done here?
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy estimation. And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

“You shall not make for yourself a divine image with any form that is in the heavens above or that is in the earth below or that is in the water below the earth.
“There shall be for you no other gods before me.
want to make God to be what we want God to be
Our lack of knowledge does not change who God is, or like
likewise our Zeal must be with knowledge
zeal is important / but it must be correct
crusaders were zealous but very wrong
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
john 2 15-17
