John the baptist starts his ministry 1st for 2 reason to fulfill prophesy but also that Jesus isn’t proclaiming himself somebody has already been a witness of him.
This marks the very beginning of Jesus ministry yes Jesus doesn’t start proclaiming and teaching until after he finish his 40 days in the wilderness but at this point John would have started proclaiming that Jesus is the one he has been speaking of as he does in
