Introduction

John the baptist starts his ministry 1st for 2 reason to fulfill prophesy but also that Jesus isn’t proclaiming himself somebody has already been a witness of him.
This marks the very beginning of Jesus ministry yes Jesus doesn’t start proclaiming and teaching until after he finish his 40 days in the wilderness but at this point John would have started proclaiming that Jesus is the one he has been speaking of as he does in
this is important to keep in mind with the themes on what they will represent in Jesus ministry

Chaos

What is John preaching and telling the people to do?
Matt 3:2, 3:6 he was telling people to repent and then baptizing when the did

where is the Dry Land?
it is in the quote from Isaiah more as a way to the LORD

New Life/Creation

this is also later reference to the gentiles being brought into the family of Abraham

New Covenant

What is the symbol that alludes to the new covenant of through Christ?
this is why we have and do baptism to represent our profession of faith in Christ and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
