Thanksgiving Message 2005 - Celebrate to the Lord

Reading: Deuteronomy 16:13-17
For seven days celebrate the Feast to the Lord your God at the place the Lord will choose. For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete. Deuteronomy 16:15 (NIV)

I.   Be Joyful at your feast! (14)

     A.  Feast of Tabernacles = Feast of Ingathering (13)

     B.  Be Joyful – Deeply joyful!

II.  Celebrate To The Lord! (15)

     A.  Celebrate – imperative

     B.  To the Lord! Not just “a celebration”

     C.  Celebrate to Him b/c He blesses to give us joy

III. Don’t come Empty–Handed! (16b-17)

     A.  Come to celebrate w/ Evidence in your hands!

           1.  Come with what God has given you

     B.  Come with something proportional
