This Sunday evening we’ll take a look at Psalm 49 and see what is has to teach us about living with a right perception on reality. Psalm 49 is a call not to be deceived by the façade of a flashy world. People may increase in wealth and status, but the grave looms and is always a constant threat with robs everything. The psalm warns us that no matter how much people advance in this life, it will mean nothing in the end. But for the Christian that is not the case. Whilst there is no way for humanity to redeem life from the grave, the psalmist rejoices that that is not the case for God. He looks forward to a time when God will act decisively to resurrect his people from the grave and usher them into eternal life with him.
