Mark 2b (1:14-15) The Time is Now

A Riddle

Both rich people and poor people have the same amount each day, and once it is gone, you can never get it back? Time.

Time makes us do crazy things: we see a deadline growing closer

Time is important, it is really something you never get back

Now, we are going to talk about how important time is

The time has arrived

The world had been waiting

First, the Jews were waiting

They wanted their savior, one who would rescue them

Now Jesus has been baptized, he has been tempted, and he comes preaching

Even the world is waiting

This world is a disaster

Creation was waiting for its Creator to make it right

His announcement is that the time has come

The time has arrived for you too

You are here for a reason, not just on earth but right here now

You are not guaranteed another minute in the world

Everyday is another opportunity to listen to what Jesus has to say

The kingdom of God is at hand

What is the kingdom of God?

God has always had a plan, to make everything right

It ends with God setting up His kingdom on earth

This will be a perfect kingdom

Perfect Justice, no corruption

No sin, no death

Jesus’s announcement was that the kingdom of God was close

Now is the time and the kingdom is almost here! - this is all his notice

There is not much time left

You need to repent and believe

Repent

Turn from trusting yourself

Turn from your sin

Believe

Believe on Jesus Christ - that is the Gospel

Believe He died and rose again ()

Only then can you enter God’s kingdom
