Pray that we’d walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. (5.
3:2–3 Paul asked questions about: (1) a key aspect of becoming a Christian, and (2) living as a Christian. Paul knew the Galatians would have to admit that the presence of the Spirit in their lives began with their believing what they heard (). His second question was whether the Holy Spirit or the flesh was God’s intended means of sanctification.
Pray for our church, that we would be regularly seeking to share the gospel with others.
Pray that God might open the hearts of people to believe what they hear!
Pray that, having begun in the Spirit, that we’d not place in any fleshly means — trusting in advice of people tangled up in a ‘works righteousness’ system of belief etc. — that we would be more sanctified by these means, we might become more sanctified.
We “receive the Spirit” not “by works of the law” but rather “by hearing with faith” ()—and it is this faith that then not only begins but continues the Christian life (v. 3).
Pray that faith would be the fuel of our church life together. To believe God in His Word.
