2 Cor
2 Corinthians 6:14 The Message
14 Don’t become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That’s not partnership; that’s war. Is light best friends with dark?
2 Corinthians 6:14 GW
14 Stop forming inappropriate relationships with unbelievers. Can right and wrong be partners? Can light have anything in common with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
Unequally Yoke: To become matched with someone that does not work well together with oneself. To be yoked to an animal of a different or size, therefore being an unbalanced...
Do not become mismatched
Deuteronomy 22:10 NKJV
10 “You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
Amos 3:3 NKJV
3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
mismated
Deuteronomy 22:10 NKJV
10 “You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

To the Corinthians, who were getting used to debasing contact, or rather compromise, with their pagan surroundings (going to temples, entering mixed marriages?), St. Paul gives this charge: “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.”1 The verb heterozygeō (literally, “pull the yoke in a different direction than one’s fellow”; figuratively, “make a mismatched covenant, mismate”)

Mismatched/Mismate Relationships:
Mis-mating is more common than ever before
Not enough saved, masculine, employed men in Church.
Not enough submitted, feminine, balanced sisters in the church..
Sometimes they are extra en-de-pendence
Sometimes its like a rescue mission.
So We look outside Our base and become willing to take a risk at Mis-mating…
Unequal 0r Uneven partnership: heter-oz-geo
Not belonging Together: But physically Attracted
Belonging: But never physical connected
Not Belonging Together: But emotionally attracted

1 Corinthians 7:10–16 NLT
10 But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband. 11 But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else be reconciled to him. And the husband must not leave his wife. 12 Now, I will speak to the rest of you, though I do not have a direct command from the Lord. If a fellow believer has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to continue living with him, he must not leave her. 13 And if a believing woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to continue living with her, she must not leave him. 14 For the believing wife brings holiness to her marriage, and the believing husband brings holiness to his marriage. Otherwise, your children would not be holy, but now they are holy. 15 (But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the believing husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.) 16 Don’t you wives realize that your husbands might be saved because of you? And don’t you husbands realize that your wives might be saved because of you?
1 Corinthians 7:14 NKJV
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
