Bread is one of the most common foods consumed by every nation and culture on earth. Think about that. Jesus could have analogized any number of things in creation, and He did. But the most used and poignant chosen is the Bread and the Vine, while we are salt and light. What other substance in creation, or created with, could be a more timeless picture of Jesus for the lost but bread? In these eight verses alone are references of that bread does here on earth and how that translates to eternity with the Living Bread, the Son of God.
