We are starting a new three week series this Sunday, which will run alongside a number of baptisms and professions of faith, asking the question, “What Is The Church?” What is this community that welcomes in new babies and new professing members? What defines us as a group? Each week, we’ll answer that question with a different word, considering three aspects of the church community: covenant, gospel and discipleship. These things completely define the church, as well as baptism and profession of faith. So, we start this week with Covenant – a mysterious and incredibly beautiful reality. And we’ll think about how God’s covenant promises and covenant love determine our response to him and shape our communal identity.
