            A tourist came into a county seat town and asked around town for the mayor.  The first citizen exclaimed, “That jerk!”

            The second citizen moaned, “That bum!”  The pollster received three more similar replies – crook – phony – nut – until meeting the mayor.

            “Why did you run for this office?” the tourist asked.

            “For the honor that goes with it,” the mayor replied.
