Vision 2018: Forward Revival through Intercession Deuteronomy 30:1-3 Introduction: Remember, Revival, a proper, short definition or explanation of revival is a "Return to God." I. Review A. Coming back to God, even if you feel as though you never left. a. Loving God “with all our might” means being devoted to Him beyond what we consider “normal.” b. Repentance, requires that we forge a stronger relationship with God than our present one. We therefore need to deepen our feelings toward God, in order for Him to mean more to us than the indulgences that we have learned to rationalize. c. Remember “Teshuvah” means “return.” B. The first two Hebrew letters. a. Tamim means, “Be sincere with the Eternal, your God.” b. Shiviti means, "I have set God before me always." 1 John 1:8-10 (BIBLE) 1 John 1:8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. NKJV Sincere Awareness… II. Return Remember the application: Life is not a game of no consequence. A. Lovingi U: V'ahavta "Love your fellow as yourself." {This love is an instrument, a means to "Love the Eternal your God.} Leviticus 19:18You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. NKJV a. “You” are the subject of this verse. Jesus continues this teaching in Luke 6:27, Luke 10:25-37. 1You shall love 2Your neighbor 3As yourslef b. Who is my neighbor? Jesus was asked this question because the Jews wanted to believe God only included other Jews. However, Jesus includes all, even your enemies. We typically have no issue with loving ourselves, being in misery when things are bad proves that, the issue is we rejoice in the misery of those we hate! That is displeasing to Father. What is taught here is that with the same care we take for our own interests, we are to show towards others, even enemies. This is repentance, this is a "Return to God." Ephesians 5:29No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. NLT The Message Bible says, No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. c. Matthew 5:44But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you NKJV Jesus covers it. Agree? B. Knowing V: B'chol (bechol) "In all your ways, know Him." Proverbs 3:6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. a. A person who sets his heart and mind to observe all that happens to him and around him, will perceive Godliness tangibly in evidence. b. When you lose sight of the truth that God is in complete control of all things, you tend to grow anxious. Feeling worried comes from focusing on yourself. Worry moves you to defend yourself forfeiting the will of God according to the dictates of lesser fears. "To worry is a sin; only one sort of worry is permissible; to worry because one worries." To worry indicates a hardness of heart & unbelief. The very name Yahweh means, "Presence," Breath," Life," & "Love" c. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 admonishes you to "remember the truth of God" when you sit in your house, walk in your ways, lie down & rise up. – Knowing – Colossians 3: 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. NKJV d. The Name of the LORD is "I-AM-WITH-YOU-ALWAYS" implying we always live within His Presence & care. Philippians 4:6-7 (BIBLE) Isaiah 49:16I have engraved you on the palms of my hands, your walls are always before me.” NLT C. Walking H: Hatznei'a - "Walk discreetly with your God." Micah 6:8He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? NJKV Micah 6:8He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? ESV a. Micah is writing from the sense of a court room setting & the LORD shuts up the angry defendant by stating, "I have shown you what is good & what I require of you." b. Yahweh reveals “what is good” remaining in “right” relationship with Him & man justice, kindess & walk humbly. This is a “Return to God.” III. Conclusion A. Sincere Awareness – Loving, Knowing, Walking – This is a “Return to God.” This is Repentance. This is Revival B. The reason we can do this is because of the resurrection of Christ. - He asks us to: * Repent * Live by Faith * Be Baptized * Be Filled with His Spirit Conclusion: PRESENT THE GOSPEL FOR SALVATION – EVERY WEEK – AND THE NEED TO COME FORWARD IN PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST
