1 Chronicles 16:
The heart of worship
Direction for CTFG
The heart of worship
The heart of worship
Our worship must be spiritual.
The spirit of the worshiper is the part that is connected to God in times of worship.
The heart and the soul are involved, but are not in charge.
When it comes to worshiping the Trinity, we have to approach God in Love, in peace, and in obedience.
It’s very important that we do NOT come to worship God in a way that brings along any idols.
We are not worshiping worship.
We are not there to perform for people, or to make them happy.
We are not even there to make THEM worship.
We worship God to worship God.
Within the Catch the Fire movement we have accessed an approach to worship that puts an emphasis on Joyful songs, and intimacy in the presence of God.
As worshipers we press toward His presence, singing His truth as we go.
Practicing the Presence of God in our cars, in our quiet times, in the secret place, is the best way to be truly prepared to worship in the public place.
That’s how we become accustomed to letting our spirit take charge.
We are going to meet God
God is awesome
I’m laying it all down
We are meeting.
You just changed my being.
Lot’s of preparation in our talent does not always mean preparation in our hearts.
We need both, but must focus most of all on our o
Direction for CTFG regarding worship and worship leading from Jonathan and Jake
• We worship because he’s worthy.
When we get together to sing we always wanna think about songs that minister to Gods heart as well as ours!
• We have values of encountering Gods transforming presence so in worship times we can unashamedly focus on his presence, exalting god being in our midst!📷
As for working with musicians, we value raising up and developing leaders so we obviously want to facilitate and not distract the congregation, but we also want to work to make space to help people develop in their calls!
An effective worship leader will tend to:
arrive first
cause their band feel safe and encouraged - lots of “i love it” and other encouragements.
lead from a place of deep personal worship
own the platform
keep the first things first
-Sunday morning is about worship.
Reach out to bandmates later to address any other issues that may have come up.
Use your influence for good
Helpful Model for sets:
Up the mountain, into the courts, into the holy of holies and back out again into the courts.

I’m laying it all down
We are meeting.
You just changed my being.
Practicum
We are eliminating the tithe talk, and the worship times will be getting that 10 minutes.
I would love to see consistent bands.

Expectations:
Worship team members will attend church more than they don’t, particularly when not on a team.
For context, Sam and Dylan are weak in this area, but Candice and Carolyn B are strong in this area.
Worship team members will be standing at the ready at 9am.
Worship team members will demonstrate a desire to be proficient in their gifts, or to grow if needed.
We are not performing, we are breaking open our hearts, so we will allow a BROAD definition of proficient and refrain from addressing mistakes or lack of talent as disqualifiers.
Worship leaders will restrict their leadership to primarily the music as much as possible/appropriate, leading people into worship by burning in worship themselves.
