One Yard Short
Acts 26:27–29 KJV 1900
King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
Super Bowls come and go, but the moments are embedded in history. One of the most remembered moments in Super Bowl history was played out in Super Bowl XXXIV when the comeback St. Louis Rams faced one of the league's newest teams, the Tennessee Titans.

Romans 3:21–26 KJV 1900
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
The last two minutes became an intense battle for the greatest NFL prize. The Titans had just kicked a field goal to tie the game at 16. Following the ensuing kickoff, the Rams and quarterback Kurt Warner wasted no time and called one play that would break the tie. Warner hit wide receiver Isaac Bruce with a 73-yard touchdown pass. The Rams now led 23-16.
Not demoralized, the Titans did not give up. It was third down and five yards to go from the 36-yard line with 22 seconds on the clock. Steve McNair scrambled away from the pocket and found wide receiver Kevin Dyson for a 16-yard reception. Titan fans were alive with energy as their team was on the 10-yard line with 6 seconds left in the game. After a time out, McNair, from the shotgun, again found an open Kevin Dyson on a quick slant pattern. It appeared he would go all the way, but at the last moment Rams linebacker Mike Jones caught him from behind and took him down. Dyson later said, "When he (Jones) got his hands on me, I thought I was going to break the tackle, but he got my foot, tripped me up and wrapped up nice. That's what he's supposed to do. That's his job." With the football in his right hand and his arm fully outstretched, Kevin Dyson came up just One yard short of the end zone as time expired!
What a shame to come so close and yet fall so short, But the Bible teaches us that so many people fall short of a far more important goal than any end zone. That is to attain eternal life.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV 1900
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Psalm 1:1–3 KJV 1900
Blessed is the man That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Romans 10:10–13 KJV 1900
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 14:26–27 KJV 1900
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Romans 8:14–17 KJV 1900
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

just as you get to the 1 yard line the defense (satan, the world ,your flesh) make their play it looks like your going to fall fall just 3 feet short
the old folk used to say 99 and a half wont do, so focused on the play (you can’t be so focused on life that you take your eyes off jesus and don't follow the blocker the holy spirit) and you look up and you see Jesus has not left you and he took terrible hit and your 1 yard short just 3 feet you can see the the Goal line cant you see as the defense thought Jesus had the ball as they (Calvary)we have just 3 feet to the goal line Jesus spent 3 days in a borrowed tomb one foot for the father, one for the Son one for the Holy Spirit,

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
