B
Read:
Acts 4:32–37 CSB
Now the entire group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common. With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them. For there was not a needy person among them because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of what was sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet. This was then distributed to each person as any had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

They shared because they knew they had more than enough

How much do you ask?
Ancient letter about early Christians
“There’s an ancient letter written by a politician names Julien. Julien was complaining about the early Christians because they were so generous they were actually making the government look bad. The Christians, he said were supporting “not only their own poor but ours as well.”
What do you think having enough is enough?
Look at these pictures and tell me which ones have “More than enough”, “enough”, and “not enough”

How much is enough?

Read
Mark 12:41–44 CSB
Sitting across from the temple treasury, he watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. Many rich people were putting in large sums. Then a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little. Summoning his disciples, he said to them, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had—all she had to live on.”

Lepta= 12.5 cents (she gave about $.25)

Jesus point: It’s not about what you give but how you give it

It’s not about what you give but how you give it
The attitude is more important than the action
Why?
Demonstrations faith that God will use whatever we are willing to give
So I need to give money?
Yes and no

APPLICATION

Pictures: More than enough, enough, not enough

Pictures: More than enough, enough, not enough

Doesn’t matter which one you identify with, according to Jesus everyone has something to share
Even if you are a poor widow

Point: Share what you have because you have more than enough

Our challenge is to discover what that is
Challenge: Should I…moments
Share something
