Explain DAniel -
Enemy has an agenda and uses culture to influence the way we think & feel.
Through culture the enemy tries to change our identity, compromise our standards and create confrontation.
By doing this the enemy wants to make us confused and weak so we cannot respond to the world around us with love and clarity.
We learned that the culture shifts and that we must re-affirm our convictions.
How do we do that?
Daniel and his friends were given new names because the culture wants to change our identity.
How has culture tried to rename you?
Christians have typically had two extreme responses to culture.
We either come against it argumentatively, or become like the culture.
Jesus was full of grace and truth.
Discuss how you have leaned to one side or the other.
How can we become more like Jesus...
To navigate through a culture that’s far from God, we have to be ready to be tested.
What are some ways you have been tested?
How did you respond?
Think of your daily life.
What are some ways you can influence the culture around you?
Taking a stand for something can be a small step.
What are some ways you can take a step towards standing for God in your life?
How can we show love to people who are living what the Bible calls a sinful life style and still not compromise our faith?
